On 90s, I was more of a "Build Engine guy". Duke, Sw and Blood were way more interesting to me. Quake 1... felt like it's description on the book Masters of Doom: a FUBAR game. Quake 2, on the contrary, was way more cool at the time.
Almost 30 years later, I've revisited Quake. And Quake 2. Oh my god, I was wrong. Deeply wrong. Quake 2 is horrible. Not fun, sluggish, unplayable. The original Quake, by the contrary, is the pure definition of fun. It's faster, funnier, and the levels are well crafted. An ode, to the accident, to the not-planned, to the caos, that made this FUBAR concept into such joyful and timeless game.

You guys should just patch the original game.

This game have some outstanding efforts in doing something great. But... I'm confused on what exactly say on how I feel about this game. I've purchased with other games, with a discount, and now I'm asking for a refund. I will receive only a significantly smaller value back, but I will do it anyway.

The new weapon looks cheap, and the game uses some fancy lighting (ambient occlusion for Duke3d? Why???) that makes the game runs on a clearly low fps (and I was playing FarCry5 smoothly last week).

The game uses 1 gb on your harddrive. Again: why?

The new weapon and new enemy... I'm... I'm depressed (not a difficult thing to trigger, but...)
I've made several amateur Duke3d levels, mods, total conversions, on the late 90s/early 2000s, and... This game does not feel right.

There's other really great games to know instead: Project Warlock, Ion Maiden, among others.
Edit: I've purchased it again because I make some bad decisions sometimes and this title have some interesting stuff - also the level selection screen helps me on my constant researchs on duke3d.

But, as I was saying, there's thousands of mods for Duke that shows more interesting weapons enemies etc. Try Alien Armageddon if possible!

I play for the lore since the b.e.t.a, and here's my brief review:
On f76, society collapsed, not because of the nukes, but because of the scorched plague. It's something special to wander Appalachia, learning more about the plague, while we suffer from the covid.
I would love to elaborate and write more, but I'm very short of time ... :(
ps: there's more soundtrack from Inon Zur and that's great

Thanks for telling me about TTV3! There's something special about your series, the pacing, the speed (I feel kinda obvious talking about this... but, well).

I'm really instigated to try to do an FPS with this kind of pacing.

Another great and straight-to-the-point title. The game's formula amazes me. It's a simplified hi-speed chase, with all that matters.

The game visuals as a whole is also great.
Just for curiosity, got a C+, using a gamepad.

A little request, I would LOVE to play it on a console, not because of the console itself, but, it would be really great to play it on a full HD tv set.
