I find this game a good alternative to other sandbox games and more. You could say it's the rival of Roblox, but older.

Think of this game as Gmod, but with legos. You can put any kind of brick to form chairs, rockets, prison walls, and more, along with modifying brick behaviours and make them explosive on touch or anything else!
But if building is not for you, there are other servers with custom gamemode ready to be played, from simple deathmatches to car racing and other modes. The forum has got plenty of addons and gamemodes to add in the game too!

The games is quite demanding in terms of hard disk space, but I personally liked it. However, be sure to buy it along more than 2 or 3 friends to play it, since it might be boring for you after some time.

In my honest opinion? It's a very nice Dragon Ball game, made by the creators of the Budokai series (from 2D to 3D is quite impressive!) and, let's say it, an awesome breather from all the games that start from the Raditz Saga and follow the same story for the [number]th time.
Creating your Time Patroller and helping Future Trunks to restore the changed battles in the past? Original and fun too! Althought Future Trunks looks like GT Trunks now... maybe even worse?

But nonetheless, I really recommend this game, even more if you plan to reach XenoVerse 2, for data transfer bonuses!

If you are looking for a plot in this game, don't.
Unless you are good enough with wiremod, video making addons (optional), level building and machinimas, then yeah, it's perfect for you.
One of the best sandbox games with a quite... versatile fanbase and assistance. The online mode might lead you to awesome servers or to dumb servers (mostly RPs) where you are forced to download useless stuff like addons or models of Jack Sparrow, Iron Man, Rabbids, Ponies, Animatronics, etc.

Canyon like environment, quests, RPG elements in a FPS game, annoying cute robots, funny enemies, what else?

Un vero peccato che a me pesa un botto, ho dovuto ridurre al minimo. Cmq...

Stupendo, non dico che e' la perfezione totale, ma e' divertente, e' una sottospecie di Empire Earth con HL2.

Shame my pc can't handle it well, i had to reduce the graphics to the min. Anyway...

Splendid, not saying it's the total perfection, but it's a fun game, it's a Empire-Earth look-a-like, but with HL2.

My initial review for this game was made in 2011, a product of its time, and back then, I picked Positive because that "MEGACOOL" I left was well deserved, because the game was simple but effective, not to mention it worked fine and you could play it without anything to worry about.

What about now, tho?
It's been since 2016 that the bot crisis started, and it keeps persisting even today.
The last major update was released in 2018.
It's 2024 and Valve keeps ignoring the bot problem by doing the "bare minimum" to send a few bans that will be promptly nullified as bot hosters will create twice as many bots for the price of an ice cream every month.

The only hint of focus they put in this game is on the mess the hat economy has become, ignoring the rest so that they can put major focus on other games that appeal more to the general public.
DotA, DotA, Counter-Strike...

Nowadays, 90% of the matches you join in Casual and Competitive are filled with aimbot Sniper bots in groups of 6 to ruin the fun for normal players and always win any votes against legit players, as well as spamming obscenities in chat and voice.
The Meet Your Match update just made it easier for bot hosters to disrupt matches, giving them an easy way to perform such raids without the need for direct control.

All this for the sake of turning a frenetic Team-Based FPS into a Hero Shooter Wannabe to compete with a game where you Wash the Oven. Was it worth it? Of course not, since we can barely play the game now.

What about community servers, you might ask?
Well, the few servers you can find only host:
- Semi-vanilla gamemodes with players whose skills reach tryhard levels, making it frustrating and boring to play ("Ankle Tokyo")
- Heavily modified gamemodes that feels unnatural (instant respawn and !rtd commands for example), making it feel unfair and sometimes confusing in some occasions
- Custom gamemodes like Surf and Deathrun, which can be fun, but they are not the main focus of the game and, eventually, one will grow tired of them for a while

So, what's the point of keeping a game up if you can't play it like it was intended to be played?
If you can't play it, then it gets a negative review.

Valve can't get away with this mess because "It's Valve." I believe it's time to let them know they don't have any more "It's Valve" cards to play this time.
Valve needs to be held accountable for what they did with this game.
