Early Access Review
I played the Original Quake (we all did back then). It has been a long time. However from what I remember, this game definitely matches the white knuckle intensity of the play style.

It plays very smoothly on as low as 8g ddr3 ram as long as you have a decent processor and connection seems more important than actual computer stats. i'm sure the tech savvy can tell you the minimums that's not me.

Minimal lagging generally host based lag issues.

Graphics are pretty good but the color outlines designating team alignment kind of ruins the look of other players in game (not that you will have time to appreciate the rendering with how fast the play pace is. They probably could have dialed down how good the environment graphics appear without significant loss to the game since the game moves so fast, but I'm glad they didn't.

matchmaking is fine

The thing that kills me is the insanely long end screen to every battle, it lines up the victorious team and you just sit there idling for like 30 seconds (feels like more). That coupled with the extremely long load times for every screen change, going from character selection to customization you can wait a full 30 seconds after going into the customization screen for the color pallate to load. You get bored waiting for the game to catch up.

Once you are in the match though..... Hell yeah. Intense, high paced, easy to figure out controlls even on characters you havent played yet (mastering them will take some work)

could use a preferred weapons setting for each character, so when you scoop up weapons it auto equips the ones you prefer instead of having to manually select using the mouse wheel.

Theres a lot about this game i'm still learning, especially the maps, they arent large but the layouts make for interesting game play and learning the flow of them will take some time, they all (the ones I have played so far) seem to flow logically to lead players back to other players to prevent camping.

fun enough, still figuring it out. worth playing as long as your connecton is fast enough it gets pretty intense. other times your playing with a bunch of 12 year olds that like to use cuss words like they just found them, Have to mute a lot of players. Needs better tutorial for new players.
