There are video lessons with a practice section that follows -- these teach you the basics of guitar playing techniques. You can pick which techniques you want to learn at will, but the game will periodically suggest things based on certain struggles you might be having (let's say you can't play the fast parts on Knights of Cydonia, so the game will suggest the tremelo lesson).
And then there's the Guitarcade which sharpens guitar playing skills while doubling as entertaining arcade games. If you're having trouble nailing slides, there's a ninja game that helps you sharpen those skills. If you can't handle the chords the game is throwing at you, there are two separate games that help you tackle chords.
does it really show you how to play, or are you just learning different songs and that's it.
im not sure if that was clear
I'd def recommend. It's surprisingly addictive, and gets you learning songs pretty damn quick.
