So I have had this game since I was in elementary school. I asked my father to get this game when it came out since I liked those tower defense flash games (Bloons TD included, of course). I played it back then, and I *really* enjoyed it. Even the DLC. However, I never could beat the game at that age.

I played this game again in high school and then had a lot of fun *again*. This time, I was able to actually develop plans and try to go for the maximum possible score. I finally beat the game with a gold medal for every level, and I was actually challenged to do so. And here is why:

It may not seem like it at first glance, but this game has you solve problems on every single wave of enemies. Each enemy has a weakness of some kind, so you have to diversify your defenses. Your defenses can also block paths to the cores (your life). Whether your first investment is an expensive and effective tower, blocking paths, upgrading some good towers, or diversifying your array of defenses is up to you. You will have to use the "reload checkpoint" button if you want anything above a bronze for a level since the game forces you to have to prepare and plan well.

If you're worried that the game is super strict, don't worry: the game has a panic button that calls down a giant laser on the baddies.

I look back on this game and just think about how fun it is for such a seemingly simple game, even against today's standards. It's a lot of content for its price. I understand that people may not want to buy this game due to the graphics or age, but, in my opinion, this graphic style and... atmosphere, I guess, is better than the cartoon-y one the developers used in the second game.

So yes, I recommend this game. It's a diamond in the rough now, but it's still one of the best TD games ever made in my opinion.
