Works great on linux, especially with optiscaler and fsr 4.

I've played every castlevania game and I have fun playing this one. Design and animations look like 2005 lazy web flash game, but gameplay is good. Overall the game is OK, not amazing, but also not terrible. I recommend to buy on discount.

PS. I have more hours played than stated (played offline) and normally I try to review much later, but negative reviews are not justified imo.

2 hits to die, 100 hits to kills type game, gameplay is just annoying.
You die, you drop everything, for no reason. You can't try other locations tho without potentially losing last few hours of grind. Annoying.
Backtracking is annoying too, map shows almost nothing and you can't mark anything.
Locations themselves are identical and you kill the same enemies over and over again. Annoying.
Story is boring and cliche.

Tldr, uninspired and unoriginal souls like 2d clone. It's not difficult per se, but just annoying. Enemies have few patterns, but you have to hit them 100 times while you die after 2 hits.

Poorly designed and irritating platforming. Not real value. No real story. Makes me wanna throw the controller.

Does not work offline as they promised.
I hope ubisoft goes bankrupt soon.

Some of the game main content is locked behind the DLC. I've search the whole map looking for the way to destroy the thorn vines. I didn't want to Google stuff like a fake gamer, but eventually I relented only to find out that I have to pay real monies to unlock stuff. F*ck this garbage.

Very repetitive compared to other rouguelikes. Not much variety between runs, only few weapons and unlocks take multiple runs.
Screen is vertical for no real reason other than to maybe annoy you with cramped rooms.

The best RPG since Witcher 3.

Amazing optimization and only minor bugs here and there. Don't skip this one.
Works on Steam Deck on Medium details/high shaders/low shadows at around 40 fps with FSR quality enabled.

Great game, but does not work offline due to garbage denuvo. Yes, I've launched the game for the first time with internet access and yet, I couldn't play it on the flight as I've planned.
I will change the review when it's removed.
Mr denuvo ceo, hate towards this garbage is justified.

Edit. The game works offline after first activation, but what's not mentioned, first activation after not only first launch, but after every update. And yes, everyday shader downloads are considered updates. So you have to prepare before going offline. You have to prepare for internet outage or something by launching the game everyday for a second.
Meanwhile, free, pirated copy available almost since the beginning will always work offline.
