Connection issues render the game unplayable, developers don't seem to have acknowledged this issue or offered a solution.

My main complaint about Saints Row 4 is that it took all of the fun parts of Saints Row 3 and either got rid of them or made them redundant, without bringing much of anything new to the table. Graphically, both games are identical. A lot of the fun parts of Saints Row 3 like driving around the city, stealing planes and other military equipment, and getting into gang fights, are still in Saints Row 4 but you have no reason to do them as your super powers make things like driving or interacting with the city in any meaningful way redundant. There's also the problem of most of the missions being incredibly repetive, it feels like the same few missions just copy/pasted over and over.

There's also the problem of the website's servers being down for a year or so now with no eta on when they'll be back, so the entire character-sharing mechanic they promised is gone.

Saints Row as a series isn't bad, and I was quite fond of 3, but 4 feels like an afterthought, and probably should have just been DLC for 3.
