I loved this game, its in essence become a chilled (yet more beaty!) Mount and Blade style game- fantastic design decision. The combat is really fun, and for me its the lords, both your own and your rivals who make it- it can lend to some really great moments when a particular lord has become a throne in your side (Kelvin the Bold- my first playthrough consistently beat back my armies from taking the east region :P). Its little things like this that lend a weird kind of immersion i guess that makes the game great to play- i'm looking forward to how it develops- thus far great little game and would recommend :).

Does this game have bugs? I believe so, though personally i have yet to encounter any in my time playing just yet. No crashes or weirdness, so for me that doesn't really put a dampner on what has been a pretty awesome experience playing this.

The game is truly one of a kind, there is no other game that does what this does in as much detail. Your literally a single politician (either President/PM or Opposition leader, or a terrorist/rebel/freedom fighter leader) and you have to keep on to/gain power. Once in the top job, everything is open to you. The game is a simulation of the worlds current economic, political and socio-cultural dimensions- with their problems and potential solutions all in their. You thus can literally try anything and see how it works when leading any country (or insurgency group) around the world. My personal favourite- Trying to turn Saudi Arabia into a secual, economically diverse and education/research driven regional power that has no public debt and extremely high standards of living for its people based on a socialist model (high pensions, high wages, lots of employment laws for protection, limited taxes on everything ranging from pets to deforestation to business turn with non-existent income taxes, subsidized by 'dat oil' and a buddy 'green-tech' industry)- its beautiful...and difficult.

At any turn something that goes against the current wishes of various factions of the people, pressure groups, religious groups, corporate intrests, bakers, lobby groups, Parliament or your own political party (or 'family' as a dictator) can land you in some serious trouble- before your either 'forced on holiday', exiled, lose an election, are shot or lose control of the country....then shot. So its very much a balancing act- With Saudi Arabia i found i had to move slowly, gather support through populist means and with every 'radical change' (particularly in regard to the power of religion over the state) i had to make sure i was prepared with either a powerful security service (love my spies), military back-up and a 'carrot' (reforms on minimum wage and the subsidization of the state relgion- before years later- removing that too). It makes for a very interesting game where sudden changes can literally cause chaos overnight- As Brazil i did a comprehensive series of economic reforms...polled individually they were recieved well supposedly by both Parliament and people- but as a massive group that wasn't staggered in terms of month or year when it came into force they caused major economic uncertainty and a loss of faith by the people- too radical- i was deposed (a common theme for me it seems :P).

Best thing ever- Take 'Gary Cimeron' (Or David Cameron *cough*) or Lisa Fay (Theresa May ahem..) and fulfil their deepest darkest wishes to be authoritarian dictators of the UK...and see if you can get their and stay their, so far more me...nope....But who knows, one day.

All in all, this game is complex, detailed and beautiful to play- there is no other game like it truly. It is expensive, but for my point of view (and again i haven't encountered any bugs or issues thus far) its well worth it.

4x Stategy games are my life... (sad for me i know!).

This game was surprising, for those times where perhaps you have a few hours to burn but don't want the complexity of Victoria 2, Geo-political simulator 3 et al. This game shines and is for you. It is streamlined, but this doesn't mean 'lacking features' in this case. Its merely a faster style of gameplay which is slightly more relaxed.

Primarily its a politics simulator, with abstracted warfare (Which is still rather nice actually) and an intriguing system for stock-markets, GDP and the economy. It compacts the clunckiness of something like geo-political simulator 3 (and not to mention doesn't have the bugs!) and removes the awkward wafrare parts of that aforementioned game, or Supreme Ruler 2020. For its price its a steal that i'd recommend.

I would say though if your looking at a realistic simulation, this isn't the game for you. It has some neat systems, but again nearly everything is in a condensed abstracted version- You can't for instance create a meaningful 'EU' or 'NATO' due to the limited nature of Blocs and 'action points' dictating your monthly changes- this is no bad thing of course, providing your aware. The Bloc system does though allow for a myriad of rising and falling alliances that make the global scape interesting- particularly with the various benefits/policies you can enact within your 'bloc'- which naturally though affect the opinion of its members of you and thus perhaps its stability.

Likewise having an 'action-point' resource that like money increases monthly based upon various policies, buildings, country size etc also adds a very interesting 'management' aspect- you sometimes can't do all that you would want to do in one more- you have to prioitize your actions- and indeed even leave a reserve for unforeseen events and world changes as Action points are also how you influence things (I built several mines but then found when a 'race for the arctic began i was due to my lack of AP behind everyone else- an oppertunity squandered).

So all in all, very interesting and well worth the price.

This game is Early Access, with all the bells and whistles that usually entails. I feel some people NEED to remember that when purchasing a game. Thus servers could do with (and indeed are) being worked on with the lag issue. Also i'm not particularly a fan of how local serve co-op has been implemented- There is a 'radious' around the host that those co-oping with them cannot get away from as the world loads around the host.

This is not an issue though when you play on an online server. And that's where the fun for me has been.

The game has some solid core mechanics, combat could do with a little work, though i find it quite fun (and highly reminiscent of Skyrim at the moment)- I'm eagerly awaiting the additions of mounts and siege weapons.

The atmosphere very much is 'Conan'- its bloody, there's a LOT of nakedness and a lot of wild barbaric acts upon people and property. The 'end' game is something i've yet to experience but am really excited for.

The Music...IS EPIC (Like seriously its Conan all over).

The Thrall system is fun, there's a perverse joy in roping poor well chaps and stealing them back to your base. the cult aspect as too is epic, and dem avatars look something awesome to face down. This game has a great potential, so even if you don't buy it, if you love the genre and/or Conan, keep an eye on it and revisit when out of EA.

So far i'd say a promising start (and this is from someone who had the infamous C++ issue- i.e. my windows hadn't downloaded a few optional updates and thus prevented the game from starting- fixed now luckily through downloading said udates- silly me!) So all in a really awesome start and i'm eagerly awaiting further updates :)

Warcube has probably given me the most fun out of any early access game to date, and i eagerly await further updates. Its incredibly stable for a 0.01 release and a pleasure to partake in. The art style adds charm to what is a plesantly quirky and fun game. I particulary like the developer interaction with the player throughout in the form of a game character, giving background and advice- the sense of humour is awesome and the overall concept a very intriguing one.

Lots of nice (and hectic!) surprises too in the mechanics (particulary (i won't spoil it), but there very much is a downside to dying to a red!), the physics based combat lends for some awesome moments, i love the live map world and the ability to influence it.

All i can say is...MORE! Looking forward to progress on this and i wish the developer the best of luck. You did good :).

No other historical strategy game quite compares to the depth and complexity of EU 4 (Beyond perhaps HOI, Vicky or CK series!- There is a developer theme here) If you love history, if you love strategy. You'll love this sexy beast.

The Developer (Indeed singular) has been and is working hard to create an extremely detailed and complex strategy game of the seven years war. It takes Total War and actually adds a proper economic system, working diplomacy and a far better battle and campaign AI. Add to this it plays out in real time (as opposed to CA's turn based system) and you have in my opinion an all round superior game. The graphics for some perhaps are lacking (but again single developer), but personally i really enjoy them and find them perfectly suitable for such a game.

Its an incredibly fun game, and i'm very much looking forward to the release of the first DLC. If your any kind of real strategy player- this is a must have buy.

This game is one of those rare gems of an indy title with a lot of potential. Whats in currently (A Skirmish mode on a large randomly generated map between two rat kingdoms) is extremely enjoyable. I can only hope this is built upon and expanded.

The concept of the game is something i find to be rather unique and pretty awesome. The atmosphere of being underground is very much built through the games visual style and soundtrack- the former being customisible to a ridiculous degree as you can pretty much change every colour and shade to how you'd like the game to be portrayed. Small touches added to this, like the zone of light around your cursor that contrasts with the dark, and the fact that the level of darkness can be customized to the point that the small zone around your cursor is all you can see, lends to a very visually pleasing and 'real' experience (This is my view though, i quite like to get properly immersed in what i'm playing!).

The lack of direct control too is something i feel is a pretty good direction, you give overall 'comamnds' and let the wee rats go about their business fulfilling them. Not only does this make for some very interesting gameplay, but also gives a sense of how i'd imagine a rat colony to function (lots of scurrying).

The ability to customize your soldiers in armour and arms is awesome, as is the use of both range and melee weapons. Its small touches of detail like this that make this title shine. The economy aspect is also pretty nice, being complex but easy to get to grips with (a lot of resources, but a simpligied hands-off means of collection).

I've by no means got to grips with this game yet (Indeed i get getting absolutely trounced by the AI- another positive being its difficulty and ability to fight effectively against a player) and look forward to getting back to trying to get my first victory.

Things i would like to see improved upon would be the ability to perhaps have more than two kingdoms fight it out on a map, as well as more content (maybe a campaign or a few different game modes?). Basically just MOAR! :).

Would thourghly recommend. And as of 1/2/17 its still being updated, achievements and trading cards- so my favourite past time of achievement hunting is a go- still getting my arse kicked though.. so that's the 'defeat' one easy enough :P

If your a fan of detailed and 'deep' style strategy games of a former era (Perhaps a touch of nostalgia there), this is the game for you. In essence its everything that was awesome about Cossacks 1 but with a shiny new engine. Sure right now it has some bugs (though in fairness i've yet to experience any, but some are having crashes and trouble). The AI in Skirmish is in my view pretty good and more importantly capable and indeed first time managed to trounce me- and while i wouldn't say i'm the god of all strategum, i'd hazard i'm quite an experienced RTS player).

Sure there are things which can be improved (Adding new nations, getting the multiplayer servers online)- But all these things the devs have stated are coming. If they keep supporting the game and releasing content, this could be a real gem. But for now i'd definently recommend buying it and giving it a blast.

Absolutely awesome and very much a welcome immersive addition to attempting (and failing) to create the mighty Norweigian Empire.
