Another top tier Ryu Ga Gotoku game. What else is there to say?

Neat game with fun mechanics. Would recommend!

I want to like this game, I really do, but every patch they kill my enthusiasm for simple enjoyment. The devs, for whatever reason, have made it their mission to nerf every fun weapon into the ground, and make the majority of weapons not viable for 7-9 difficulties. Every new warbond (except the newest one, Polar Patriots) has had some kind of fun, or interesting weapon in it, only for it to be nerfed later in a new patch. Many people, including myself wonder why they should even get the new warbonds if they know the weapons will be useless shortly after.

They've also made solo, and even duo's extremely difficult with all the recent changes made to the increase of the amount of enemy patrols that spawn in a game. The longer you're in a game, and the more objectives you complete (including side objectives) the more frequently enemy patrols spawn. It's to the point now where doing only the main objectives on 7-9, and getting out as fast as possible is the only viable way to complete missions, or be crushed by the immense amount of enemy patrols actively hunting for you.

These difficulties used to be hard, but doable if you knew what you were doing by just simply avoiding most patrols, and ending fights quickly. Now weapons feel really weak, which drags fights on for much longer. You would go to an objective point to kill the static enemies, they usually call reinforcement, and by the time you kill them all, a patrol shows up (or even in the middle of the fight) causing you to get pushed back because of the sheer amount of enemies, which then causes more reinforcements to be called in. When you finally manage to kill all of these enemies somehow, guess what, new patrol around the corner ready to start the whole thing over again. Congratulations, you just wasted 5-10 minutes, and whatever amount of lives you spent on one objective.

Changes need to be made to bring the fun back to this game. There is no need to nerf every weapon that seems a little bit strong just because the other weak weapons aren't as popular of a pick. Nerfs like this only hurt the game. Buff the weaker weapons so there is more variety for everyone to choose between. Quit treating this game like it's a pvp game with a competitive aspect to it. It's a damn pve game. We all want to jump into the game, and blast some bugs or bots without our favorite weapons feeling extremely underwhelming. Stop making this game next to impossible for solo, or duo's to play. Just because the game has 4 player co-op does not mean it can only be played that way.

I'll probably keep playing if my friends invite me to play with them, but currently I cannot recommend this game if you are someone who enjoys playing solo, or with a friend. If you try to play with rando's, you'll probably get kicked for very dumb and selfish reasons. I only recommend getting this game if you have 2-3 other friends to play with, but be prepared for any weapons you like to potentially get nerfed hard. If they ever get their balancing issues straightened out, then I'll come back and change my review to positive.

I enjoyed this remake greatly (enough to get all achievements), but I wish it was just a bit longer. More puzzles, or an extra area would have been great. This game comes with an extra game called Resistance, which is a vs multiplayer mode, but I haven't actually played it yet. It looks like it could use more work from what I've seen, but plenty of people seem to be enjoying it. I hope they release some dlc for this remake sometime soon, like a raid mode, or extra scenarios.

If you aren't a huge fan of the Resident Evil series, then I would recommend waiting for a sale before purchasing the game, otherwise, go ahead and get it!
