Satisfyingly gorey. There are some nice combat mechanics and the weapons feel like they have weight to them. Server latency and framerate drop can be an issue though.

At first glance, Mount & Blade: Warband looks like a slapped together, broken mess with weak visuals, confusing menus and HUDs and cumbersome, awkward gamplay. And yes, this is all technically accurate. But at the same time, the game happens to be incredibly deep and rewarding if you have the patience to get over those initial impressions. Both the RPG- and combat elements can be really satisfying once you get the hang of them and if you let it, this game and all its flaws and imperfections will soon come of as really charming.
