Good game if you like grand strategy games

Very fun game. Do yourself a favor and hop onto a server with a lot of people on it. Even if you're shy, just having access to markets to buy/sell/contribute to other people will make the sandbox a lot more fun to play in.

Huge Stronghold fan, but this game is absolute trash. I bought it at launch hoping for another smash-hit from the Stronghold Series, but was disappointed. The game felt half finished, so I figured I'd abstain from reviewing it until they could fix it.... Returned to the game 7 years later and it isn't much better than I left it...

There's no skirmish mode (eg. no player vs AI outside the campaign), the campaigns feels half finished at best, unit "AI" isn't very good, and there are no tooltips anywhere in the game (Unless I'm missing them).

Objectively, Stronghold 2 is a better game. If you're looking for a 2000's style RTS go play Age of Empires or Stronghold 2. I wouldn't even pick this game up if it were on sale.

One of the most addicting games I've ever played. 10/10, would waste dozens of days of my life pretending to farm again

Good game, but the new EULA is very shady. I was fine paying $50 for this game, another $30 for Rise and Fall, $5 each for a DLC with only 1 Civilization and a Scenario, and not having mods available on Steam... but after giving the Devs all that money they turn the game into spyware... If they alter the EULA I'll happily go back, but I can't in good conscience play a game (after paying all that money) that's going to data mine me so they can sell it off to make even more money off me.

I've played this game quite a bit (more than the 3.2 hours that Steam has logged at the time of review). It has always been a good game but felt incomplete. With the addition of Endless Mode and a random wasteland I would say it now feels "complete" and I can say, with absolute certainty, that it is worth the purchase price.

If you're looking for an edgier, grittier, colder (and much harder) version of Tropico with a better story I'd recommend this game to you!
