Early Access Review
Its like Valhiem except with Vampires, I don't know what it was that really ticked the boxes for me in this little game, but it has had me playing it like a demon possessed.
It so much fun, and has a combination of base building and a typical RPG style progression system and running round and consuming powerful NPCs to gain new abilities was a really interesting spin on levelling up.

I think when the next big content update drops I will play again but this time I'll find some people to play with as fun as it was soloing the game (which is not too hard to do) being able to build bases and compare our castles and work to gather to beat the harder bosses I think will be even more fun.

Though I have fond memories of this game back in the day and was quite excited to see it be re-released on steam I cannot recommend anyone buy it unless they're fully aware this is a defective product and are willing to put some work in to download a program that helps to alleviate the symptoms of the bugs.

Namely the so called 1 FPS bug, which as I understand is due to the way the game uses ray casting or some such on certain abilities causes the game to stutter and virtually drop to 1 FPS hence the name, which as you can imagine shouldn't be happening for a 10 year old game. ( I have an 8th Gen i5 with a 2060 RTX and 16 gb RAM)
Unfortunately It does not appear that the people who have aquired the licence - Hanbitsoft- will fix it despite the fact they are well aware of the issue and are giving us complete radio silence on the issue.

As for the positives, as I mentioned I have a lot of Nostalgia for this game, I do like the lore and the aesethetic of the amour and weapons. It can get a bit repetitive in the level design and the enemies however it is an ARPG. To the credit of Hanbit they have added some new weapons, armour and Items which would breathe some new life into the game for anyone wishing to relive their past experience with the game.

It's so beautiful! *sob

But on to serious matters, this game was pleasure to play from start to finish, a very unique experience. It is a very touching and moving story involving love, loss and even redemption. Several times thoughout the game and in the end particularly I was brought to the brink of tears.

Visually it is very impressive and very beautiful, it has an art style that will ensure the game lives as a timeless masterpiece as it very well deserves. I had picked up the game hearing nothing but good things about it and am happy to report that its is most assuredly deserves its positive acclaim, I was very suprised by the depth of the game as well as it's difficulty, Don't let the the pretty face fool you, this game is at times very challenging so much so, that I would say expect to die a lot as you try and work out some of the more complex puzzles.

I don't particularly like number scores as I find them to be to vague but if there ever was a true 10/10 score this would most certainly be it.

A very deep and rich Storyline combined with very interesting game mechanics that mark this game out from most, a very suspenseful game that will keep you gripped and leave a very memorable impression. Well worth the purchase.
