I love the Pawns!

I was standing outside Trevo Mine where we had to get the stuff for vocation frustration and kill the goblins for Monster Culling quest.

One of my pawns, not even my main pawn, said, "I can't tell you how many packs of meat and fish have rotted in my backpack. You'd think the smell would remind me!"

I was hooked from then on.

There is no wrong choice of vocation. I chose mage and my pawn is a fighter for now. I will switch to Mystic Spearhand next and put her on Mage, for support.

You don't want to miss this one. Check out some Youtube videos and see how cool it is.

It's a Classic! One of my favorite games, ever!

It's a classic D&D 3.5e ruleset game. This is my favorite edition. It's a blast, I recommend it.

If you are like me and never use a console controller you may find the keyboard and mouse controls to be awkward at best and cause you problems and many deaths at worst.

If they added a hotbar that you can keybind your spells to and things like your mount and potions it would be a lot better. There is a pouch but it doesn't seem to be able to hotkey whatever you have in the pouch for quick casting/access.

There is also no way to lower or increase difficulty that I could find.

Now if you love game controllers and/or have played Dark Souls games in the past then this might be for you. but just isn't the case for me.

There is a lot of good stuff in this game and it could be a lot of fun for many people but it was just too annoying for me.

Mods load super slow. The game often loads slow if at all. It seems to hang up at times. I have great internet and a higher end machine with lots of ram and Nvidia RTX 2080Ti Graphics with plenty of ram on it too so it's not my machine. Could be a problem with a mod I guess. I dunno but it just seems to buggy overall from my experience. The game eats up over 213 GB HD space as well.

There is definitely a bit of a learning curve starting out but Avorion is a great game and I like it more and more as I play and get closer to the core!

I'd say it has some but not all similarities to Eve Online, The X Series of games, Space Empires, and some other games too. It is very much a 4x type of game, "explore, expand, exploit, and exterminate".

I love that much of the boring stuff can be automated!

I was playing Empyrion Galactic Survival prior this and I find several folks from that community and friends from others playing Avorion or own the game too.

I recommend this to anyone who like the above.

Wait, what? I played 68 hours already? Whoa! This is an awesome game both single or multiplayer on a dedicated server. It's easy to lose all track of time however because it is quite immersive. I definitely recommend this to anyone who likes space games, creative mode, or survival. Maybe you just like to RP as a trader, miner, etc. Yes, you can do all that. Enjoy. Thank me later if this helped make up your mind.

Wow, this game is awesome and especially so considering the low price. There are already tons of videos on youtube to help you get going too!

OK, downloaded game from Steam, it was in Portugese. Finally, with help from the Discord channel, I was able to find options to change it to english.

The first 2 GFI tutorial missions went OK. AFter delivering the ore to the station and accepting the quest to deliver rations to Jupiter, I went to Jupiter and docked, no tutorial update, so I completed the mission via the interface.

I expected the tutorial to show me how to assemble the weapon component with the blueprint and the parts but it didn't. Instead it moved me to the next mission to destroy drones but of course I had no weapon.

I tried resetting the tutorial but it didn't help at all.

The tutorial was badly broken for me leaving me in an unplayable state.

I got no further help from Discord either.

At this point out of frustration, I simply uninstalled the game.

I had hoped it would be a viable alternate to EVE but nope.

I do NOT recommend this game, at least not at this time. It's in Alpha but I found it to be unplayable.
