Note, i have previously played this all the way through on PS4.
This is a visually stunning experience, with enough allusions to old kurosawa and bushido fiction to keep any fan of romanticized Samurai locked in. While fairly simple in its structure, the presentation more than covers for whatever the game lacks.

In terms of gameplay, the combat is versatile and satisfying, the progression system is finely tuned and traversal is a streamlined version of Assassins Creed. Unfortunately, much like Assassins Creed, the game relies a bit to heavily on A to B quests, find a question mark on the map, do this one menial task 10 times. The main characters are well written and acted both in English and Japanese, but dialogue is often presented with a stiff, bethesda-esque shot-reverse shot conversation, with even stiffer facial movements, which brings the immersion to a halt.

Although this kind of game (open world, generic fetch quests) generally leaves me a bit annoyed, Tsushima never outstayed its welcome. This is mainly due to the play area being smaller, more crafted, not adding too many menial tasks and not least, minor QoL things like fluidity in motion, flexible hitbox for picking up items etc. The game flows so well through the usually annoying tedium that when you finally do get stopped in your tracks (haiku, fox den) it feels more like a breather and reminder to not rush through the game.

Sucker punch have clearly infused their influences into this game and tuned it to perfection.

The port itself is masterfully handled, and Nixxes really are the very elite within this field. No hiccups, no graphical issues, thoroughly adjusted for pc players. Thiis version is a true blueprint on how to port a game.

Currently playing on steam deck (LCD) and getting a steady performance and a great experience.

Early Access Review
While PUBG has its problems, i was fully aware of that being the case when I bought it. And now as it stands, it's currently my most played game on steam.
I didn't know that this was the multiplayer game mode I was looking for, but now I do.

Matches range from intense to downright infuriating, and while you sometimes lose due to a bug for instance, most of the time you lose due to poor planning/positioning or just not keeping your head cool.

Getting to top ten is exhilarating and kind of unmatched.

Good fun.
