I have played thousands of hours of Company of Heroes 2 Multiplayer over the years. I am going to avoid reviewing single player or AI Skirmishes (cause I don't care for them - and nor will you over the many years of life that this game will have).

First - the multiplayer feels different (mostly due to the faction changes and also the revamp of the commander system). Having played 1 4v4 and 1 1v1 - I can say this is just really epic - there is just that same edge of the seat fight that we have grown used to in COH2. Although right now - the pacing of the matches feels markedly different - and the factions need balancing. The balancing and changes will occur and likely pretty fast. Also the commander system in my view still lead to more diverse playstyles and combos.

Visually - the camera is in closer (can't prove it but I feel it) - so it has an even greater tactical feel (for better and for worse). The visual style on the other hand is odd - I don't think the graphics are bad (in fact they are more than decent) - but something about the color is off - units blend into the ground -buildings blend into other buildings. This is beautiful Italy we are talking - and I don't think the multiplayer maps I have seen capture that.

Conclusion - if you are after multiplayer - I say go ahead and buy without fear - it's a great game that will surpass COH2 eventually (in the multiplayer domain).
