Death has Little Consequence
Not for people who want realism in strategy but a game like Arma with battlefield mechanics
--------
Squad, as advertised is realistic in its "communication" and "teamplay" but not in very much else. If you have heard that it is the baby of Battlefield and Arma that is correct. But that is all it is planned to be. It has more team work in its servers than I have ever seen online but in terms of mechanics it leaves wanting in realism.

The Respawn System:
Devs say this system is good to stay: Mounted weapons are the only thing that kill you instantly and force you to respawn. There will be no high powered rifles that do that either currently or planned (meaning no snipers really). A rally point (temporary respawn point) can be dropped by the squad leader around every 100seconds and requires a squadmate to be within 8meters and no enemy within 50meters. Medics raise everyone from the dead within seconds, literally 10seconds and then more to patch them back to full health. FOBs(Forward Operating Bases) are more permenant spawn points but can be dug up by the enemy. Other wise you must spawn at the main base if all of these options are destroyed by the enemy.

Supporting the advancment of friendly ground units is the only viable strategy when it comes to killing an enemy force. In order to kill a squad the SL (Squad Leader) must not have dropped a rally point (respawn point) and the medics must die as soon as possible along with the SL.

If you see an enemy squad moving a far distance off, it most better not to engage. It will make his team aware of your location and unless you are able to incapacitate his medics and their SL. Hoping they do not set a rally point down on their position, there is very little reason to attack them. Unless you were to immediately advance to their position.

It is best in this game, when checking for enemies in buildings to split up and all go in to different ones. Once one of those people meet the enemy he will most likely become incapacitated but will relay to the rest of his squad how many enemies and what floor they are on. The rest of the squad then usually groups back up and secures the building. The medic revives the downed player and the game goes on. It saves time and there are little consequence to going alone in any case in search of information.

Pros:
1)Never have I seen so many servers full of people willing to work together to win the game. In fact if you do not have a mic they often kick people from the squad.

Insurgency is realistic, but at the same time action packed.

Games like Arma and Red Orchestra have this tactical more realistic apporach as well. However, Insurgency is in many ways more high pressure. It is realism in more of an arena setting. The game types in Insurgency all give potential for a team to win just by the actions of one team member. Like in Ambush which can be won by capping an objective. Or for the opposite side, killing the VIP. As long as there is one person alive your team can win the game. Often times a team is compltely wiped out except for one single player. And all of his dead team mates left to spectate screaming over their mics as the last player dodges every bullet to the objective or (on the oppisite side) shoots the VIP in the head from across the map just before he caps it. Having realistic bullet damage makes it that much more intense. Alot of times even just one shot can kill you.

If you arent a strictly arcade style shooter fan I would reccomend this game. There is a learning curve though. For some ppl they do fine just picking the game up. It took me a day at least to get a kill though. The community is generally pretty nice and very team work oriented. The bad ones usually dont stick around for long or get banned.

Get this game!

TIPS for new players:
1)Night Vision - in your loadout go to accessories and select night vision and then press "b" to toggle
2) Map - press "," to toggle

CS:GO Review
CAUTION* I have never played a counter-strike game before
Having had experiances with most other mainstream fps COD, Battlefield ect
This game is pretty refereshing and rewards well placed shots, but it does not seem to visually portray the accuracy reduction of the gun very well. You could be running around ten feet in front of another player holding down the trigger and only actually land 3 shots on him doing 11/100pts of damage. You could have the enemy dead within all of your cross hairs and nothing fricken hits him. Frankly its a great game but it is ridicoulus how inaccurate the guns are on full auto. Practailly in the counter-strike they have no need for full auto as it makes everything worse. The only way you actually hit anyone is by burst firing and crouching as soon as you see somone.

Yes I am a noob and I suck at the game. Its still fun. But its stupid how at 5feet away with an automatic weapon doesnt do anything to the other player. Ok and running with a knife out makes you go faster? Yeah thats not stupid. Great game but just not as realistic as I thought it would be.

King Arthur's Gold is an incredible game. For capture the flag, the game kicks off with a building phase in which everyone harvests the resources and begins to errect fortresses, traps and shops. Then after the alloted time is up the fighting begins in which both sides struggle to controll the majority of the map and access to more resources to ensure well maintained and solid defenses against the opposing side.
The game structure not only allows but requires team work. The community is generally friendly. Physics based kills, sharks, seige weapons, warships and spiked pits makes for an amazing game.
