I have played quite a few games in the survival horror genre but nothing has absolutely captivated not only my attention but thoughts too.
I can't sing the praises of the story telling enough, (which is obviously the driving force for the rest of the game) it twists and turns and i can't stop thinking about it having completed it and preparing for a second play through on the harder difficulties. The setting that is laid out is so intriguing half the time I just wanted to know more about the surroundings let alone the main story. It has so many elements, motifs, nods other parts of history... Its just great (at a loss for words)
The gameplay is also excellent, Takes inspiration from alot of other sources like silent hill and deadspace and combines them into this semi-top down pixel-3d environment you just have to experience. The weapons all have a place in the game play loop and are chunky/gratifying to use.

I know this just sounds like a bunch of rambling but I haven't taken the time to write too many reviews but let me say this is a must have. I cannot wait to hear what the devs have planned next. Be it DLC/Sequel, an in universe game, or totally separate project

Early Access Review
*UPDATED*

At the time of writing this review i cannot even see the main menu screen. I meet recommended specs and ive tried every hotfix i can find on the tripwire forums from both the players and tripwire itself. Coming from someone who bought kf1 a week or so after its release i can say im really suprised, Ro2 runs great so why cant this. Until tripwire fixes this i cannot and will not recommend this game as amazing as it looks and the nostalgia it has because of the risk of not being able to play it at all. Hopefully tripwire will fix this and as soon as that happens you can bet ill drop a psoitive review.

*UPDATE*

I have now fixed my issue which has now been labled as the georgia crash. The crash is caused by your steam avatar photo not being exactly 184 x 184. Tripwire hasent fixed this and community members have discovered it just recently to my knowledge. To fix this issue simply find a photo that is 184 x 184 and use it as your avatar like my ghosty friend here and you should be able to run the game.
