One day I will get a save to fall before restarting. Maybe even before Haunted Chocolatier releases. 10/10

This is definitely one of my go-to games for group gaming sessions. This game is by no means perfect, it's relatively simple, easily gets repetitive, and has a lot of bugs. And as someone who's apparently not as easily scared as I thought, it loses its scare factor pretty quickly. However, the more I play this game, the more I end up enjoying it for unusual(wrong?) reasons, and I feel the positives easily outweigh the negatives even after the core gameplay has grown old.

The big positive for it is how active the developers(developer? I actually don't know how many people are on the team for this game) are with their communication andimplementation of patches and updates. Communication with the community is clear, and the developers seem to have a clear idea of what they want to add to the game and how they will go about those goals. It's also refreshing to see a team that is pushing to regularly add new content, even if in small tidbits at a time, and doesn't bs its community or try to monetize every addition they make to the game.

Beyond that, the biggest draw to this game for me is playing it with people who are either new to the game or are timid and easily frightened. You'll find fun playing the game in the beginning because you're scared and trying not to die, but you'll find much more fun when you become comfortable with the game by watching others suffer as you had. I'll be honest, I don't find much fun at all in playing this game alone, and I don't really have an interest in joining random lobbies. However, whenever one of my friends wants to play, I'm quick to jump on board simply for the chance to mess with them and delight in their suffering.

P.S. I listed the bugs as a negative, but honestly, they're more like Bethesda bugs. They honestly tend to be more hilarious than frustrating, and have an endearing quality that I would miss if they were ever all patched out.

This game has been a steadfast and enjoyable challenge from day 1. By now, if you're not familiar with dark souls, then the game probably isn't for you. We all play games for many reasons and there are many who won't enjoy what this game brings to the table. However, if you enjoy a challenge and like the reward that comes with pushing yourself to improve, learn and adapt, then you will find this game a perfect fit for you. Persevere and you will find a world rich in lore, beauty and colorful characters, with a sad tale as moving as any other hiding behind the setbacks and failures you push through.

Pro's:
-Challenging as hell
-Beautiful scenery
-Epic boss fights
-A vast and detailed lore that tells a tragic story
-Wonderful musical scores
-Solid core gameplay
-The game doesn't hold your hand.

Con's:
-Challenging as hell
-Imbalanced pvp(though you can avoid it in offline play if you really want)
-Slow pace at times, especially if you're having trouble with a section.
-The game doesn't hold your hand. Beyond a bare-bones tutorial, you're left to figure out how everything else works on your own.
