The game is even more fun to play after recent patch. No more Gears of War style clearing enemies area after area, now it's constant threat. It's glorious tryharding time and it's less of a boring chore going through the missions.

I haven't played it for more than a year and there is only 1 major update, which breaks the game again. Progression since plains biome is in a loop of "all previous gear is useless now, get stuff from new biome, rinse and repeat with the next one". It's decent idea for seasonal game, but it's supposed to be one game, Imagine starting a new game and you grind like 4th biome for ages just to be ♥♥♥♥♥♥ in 5th by first few monsters minutes later. It has it's saving grace when you spread updates so thinly, it won't work well in full release (but I don't think anyone's expecting it at this point).

I was expecting a nice rhythm game to chill out in, instead I got a beautiful and vibrant arcade "racer" with great graphics, beatiful music and nice story. It is quite short, but every time I launch it it brings smile to my face. Magnificent work of art.

you can feel like Roy Mustang while incinerating whole Magitek squads with a snap of a finger.

there is still much room for improvement - skaven could've been done better for example. Nevertheless game improves in every aspect compared to its predecessor, I do not regret spending money on it, especially when you consider FLC plan.
Some thoughts on the game itself:
magic makes a greater impact on gameplay, which makes caster lords even more fun to play
multiple changes to quality of gameplay experience, from prompts to what AI is doing in campaign map (changing army stances) to better tooltips on public order and such
elven factions are quite well done, with favor turning for the high elves, they are absolutely amazing to play, even thou they might come short in multiplayer (of which im not a fan really, TW series is my "zen game"), dark elves are ok with Malekith being an absolute badass.
skaven are a bit lacking in terms of gameplay mechanics that could've been implemented. They seem to be well balanced for multiplayer, but single player experience seems to suffer because of that. I'd say they are still a very enjoyable experience nonetheless.
Haven't played Lizardmen, not a fan.
siege battles are still very lacking apart from few specific locations
AI is more aggressive/dumb meaning you will fight more defensive battles which is a nice change of pace when compared to the first game
more diverse battle maps, chokepoint battles are finally back, be it river/bridge battles or some specific locations. Apart from that maps feel more vivid this time.
co-op campaign has much more sense now as factions are divided in two by default

Overall even though the changes may not seem revolutionary they are still a great evolution of the first instalment. Is it worth the price tag then? It offers pretty much the same as the first game when it originally came out (4 factions and 1 campaign), but with bigger map and a number of quality of life changes. Then again some might say that it is just a glorified DLC. I am having an absolute blast so far.
