Fun game if you like to hack and slash hordes of monster coming toward you.
The only thing I wish for is more achievements or move out the Okri quests out as obtainable achievements in Steam.

Upon first glance of Crea you might get the vibes which says, this game looks just like Terraria but less 16-bit pixel graphic. Well part of it is same, the genre and style is similar to Terraria actually. But! in Crea you have a leveling system, a research system, and the crafting system well placed and easy to use and understand even without the need of tutorial. Something I would like however is a larger inventory capacity.

I haven't played the largest map yet, the tryout I had was on the smallest map. Even on a small map you can expect lots of play hour. Since on your first go with a new character you want to build my leveling up so you can hit harder and collect materials faster. So if you like sandbox games but you think 3d sandbox like Minecraft is too big, and you don't feel Terraria is pretty, then I think you should give Crea a try. So far I have enjoyed the hours I spent on it. Here's a list of improvement I think Crea has over Terraria:

  • Crisp graphic
  • Level up system
  • Easy crafting

Some users has complained about bugs, from my experience I only had one occassion in which I had to restart the game, because my controller stopped to work for some reason. Except for that I haven't experience any problem with the game. Moreover the developer is very active and I believe the reported bugs are quickly fixed. So you don't need to worry about you bought a broken game ;)

    Rating:

    8.5/10

    Pros:

    1. Crisp graphic, if you prefer less pixel
    2. Level up system
    3. Easy to understand crafting system
    4. Research instead of recipes

    Cons:
    1. If you careless go inside a cave and falls down in a hole you be stuck there forever.
    2. Too few customization option when creating your character
    3. Too small graphic, but I guess if you zoom it in it would look too much like Terraria maybe?

What you get is a completely brainwashed survival shooter. But is it fun? Well that's depends on if you are out for killing time for few minutes or longer. It could be as short as few mintues or as long as few hours. Depends how well you are in it, and also depends how well developed your characters are. You have a upgrade system which requires you to this game to collect gold coins so you can spend it on different upgrades to improve your character, so you can play in an even more insane difficulty.

So in short, do you like a game which doesn't require so much learning, you like to kill lots of monster, rogue like adventure, and many many weapons. Then this game is for you ;)
Btw the developer added a Steam global highscore list, so go for number one!

Something which wasn't that satisfying, keep in note I only played in normal difficulty, was the dungeon mode. The pace felt a bit slow compared with the adventure mode, and arcade mode. The later two modes there were a lot of monster swarming me, which was fun because I could have my minutes with relentless killing with ma'shotgun;) However dungeon mode, I'm not sure about it. It was great however for collecting gold coins for purchasing upgrades, but the boss fight was a bit difficulty maybe since it was the first boss.

Rating:

7/10

Pros:

  1. Lots of weapons!
  2. Lots of monsters, use your favorite AOD weapon and cause tons of splash dmg!
  3. Retro style, although I haven't played any retro games which is like this one back in the 80'ties ;)
  4. Great tutorial which you can go through to learn the game mechanic!

Cons:
  1. In the end if you wanna improve your character, it requires lots of grinding...
  2. Boss fight seems a bit difficult compared to the normal monster, even though I just played it in normal difficulty
  3. Lack of players to play online with, so you need to have friends over, or online to get even more fun out of it really.

It is very red, orange, brown, and other colors which blends well into it. And it is western shooter. Anyhow first off, I'm a sucker for these kind of shooter. I'm not sure if you wanna call this like one of those shmup games. This game is like one of those anyhow. I only tried story mode and arcade mode. There's an online mode as well, but lacked online player so I couldn't try it out.

So first thing before I go into the gameplay. The music tunes reminded me of Metal Slug, especially the character selection view. Nothing bad about it, it just gave me the nostalic feeling of it, so thumbs of for it. So about the gameplay, there's a lot of characters to chose and play. Maybe too many at start, so I didn't knew which one was the all-around character perhaps there isn't? But there were some character that's gameplay-wise was easier to play than the other. And there's some character especially one of them, which felt unbalanced and hard to play with. The one I'm talking about is that character which uses fireworks.

Anyhow like most of shmup games it is more fun to play it together with friends. I didn't got to try it out with friend however, but I think it would be fun enough if I did. Story mode is okay, I didn't finish it but I came to the last boss I think. If it wasn't the last boss then I think the steep from coming down from easy enemies then you are facing this first boss with lots of hp to be a bit difficult... Or maybe I'm not that good? Regardless I found this game to be quite enjoyable for a few moment. But I think it is a bit too short maybe, and the settings felt a bit repetitive after awhile.

Rating:

5/10

Pros:

  1. Fun if you like shmup like shooters
  2. Enjoyable bit graphic

Cons:
  1. Too many characters at start, perhaps unlock from story mode would be better instead?
  2. Scenes are too similar and the choice of color gets dull after awhile
  3. Part of the game didn't felt clear, like how many continue I have in story mode wasn't visible.

Sandbox game which is more or less an inspired offspring from the Minecraft genre and similar games. Graphic wise it is pretty good and playable with my 660Ti GPU. Normally I don't play this kind of game, but wanted to give it a chance to find out what the fuzz is about these kind of open world sandbox games is. So the idea for this game seems you have free choice to craft item, and build structures. Quite interesting if you like to build small, or large structures.

I played in the single player mode, in the single player mode there are quests, which I guess are there to teach you about this game. Each quest I tried so far ask me to build an item, which requires a number of item. It is one way to teach you the game mechanic, but I would have preferred a tutorial instead.

One thing which I did not like was the mana which seems to be there only to hinder me from playing the game faster, since when I was out of mana I had to wait for it to replenish which was a lot of wasted time for I felt. It would be better if it was removed, since the only reason for it to be there seems to stop me to play for a while. Since I mentioned about tutorial before I can complain about this also. The small cat-like animal which follows me around, I did not understand it was my pet first, so once again if there were a tutorial these unclear thing could have been understood.

Rating:

5.5/10

Pros:

  1. Nice graphic, and incredible large world. Lots to explore
  2. Unique way to craft item which I havent seen before

Cons:
  1. Tutorial is somewhat lacking, requires that you have played other similar sandbox game before to understand some fundament mechanic
  2. Mana is somewhat limiting the speed for building.
  3. Pet AI somewhat lacking, it can run around in circles before attacking the enemy
