Very poorly balanced, confusing and extremely RNG dependant.

It also looks a lot like a mobile game. I'll keep an eye on future updates, but as for now it's a nope from me.

Probably the most unbalanced Vampire Survivors-like I've played. Between the giant difference of power between the classes, skills and some undodgeable attacks with projectiles spawning right under my hero, I cannot recommend this game at all.

It is also missing the charm of the genre by making sure you're never really powerful. It uses systems such as level recquirements to upgrade your skills to make sure it's a struggle from minute 1 to the last boss.

Also, selling DLCs while still in early access should be forbidden.

EDIT: I went back to this game, and it has improved a lot. There are still issues of course, such as balance and visual clarity, but it's on the right path. I'm changing my review to positive.

People looking to play a Path of Exile game should think twice before installing this.

If you thought the original game was elitist, you have seen nothing. Imagine being obliged to play ruthless (a game mode where drops are extremely scarce and movement abilities are disabled in PoE 1) AND having the game being contaminated by Dark Souls with a roll ability that is your only "movement ability" available, one shots at every corners and extremely spongy bosses and you get PoE 2.

And perhaps the worst offender...Remember how well the labyrinth in the first game was received? How people complained and still are complaining about it? How the main criticism is that it is mandatory to build your character?
Now great, it's gone! I never had any problem with it personnaly, except maybe back then when all labs had the same length.

Remember Sanctum? Ultimatum? These two beloved (!) league mechanics? They replace the lab now. I have no words. It baffles me to the core. That is their response to the lab hatred. This has to be trolling, I see no other explanation.

The sad thing is, I like that the game got slowed down. The art style is gorgeous, the musics are excellent and the story is as interesting as ever. But sadly, the game is completely ruined by the extreme elitists who have taken control. Most new players won't finish the first Act, maybe not even get to the first boss.

This game was made by and for people who have something to prove. And fun be damned. There is nothing fair about the difficulty here, especially when you add in the luck factor with the atrocious drop rates (if you thought keeping act 2 items up to maps in PoE 1 was bad, oh boy do I have some bad news for you).

It's a fine Vampire Survivors type of game with pretty art style that is still being updated to this day.

Yes, I played that game a lot and keep playing it. Because I'm a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ masochist.

That AI is the most vile, disgusting, filthy abomination I've ever experienced in a game or dare I say in my whole life. The things it is capable of doing to make you mad, I can't even begin to list them all. Between the benny hill w/ forced march and/or tunnel mode, the blatant maphack to attack you from absurd locations like having an army in the middle of nowhere in another AI's region ready to backstab you (thanks devs for removing the regional visibility a while back, very fun, much appreciated), you'll never expect the next lame. Every playthrough is a new lame waiting to be discovered, it's kind of a masterpiece in its own rights.

Oh and thanks for the small, mostly empty patches you publish regularly just to nuke the mods, some if not most of them absolutly needed to get a little bit of enjoyment out of this game. Why would we wait to bundle everything in larger patches I wonder. Especially when you don't test things, like not even once (remember the s l o w cockatrice? mario kart Greasus? etc.)

EDIT: DLC is out with a rework of Ogre Kindgoms. Also a (obviously not tested) patch that utterly breaks monstruous infantry/cavalry, thus making Ogres unplayable. I am speechless. It's a masterpiece of a fail.

People are not ready for how absolutly disgusting the AI is.

If you like to play against the AI or play the campaign, get ready for some of the most absurd maphack you've ever seen. That and modified missions that have never been tested, not even once (hello mission 18, speaking of which why are the mummies and enemies allied now?).

Want to play skirmish against the AI? Enjoy seeing them send armies at each other and never defend their bases. That's especially true in team games, where they don't care about their allies at all. It really feels like this AI is from 20 years ago.

If you want to play against humans, I guess the game's fine, but these flaws are unacceptable for me.

Turns out combining roguelike and long, extremely punitive RTS games isn't a bright idea. Especially when the alert voice is more busy spamming you with "Attention! Building completed!" than telling you your buildings/units are being attacked.

The campaign is also a chore with impossible missions unless you have the right unit/technology researched and no way to tell before wasting time on them, and hero missions are absolute garbage. Have fun killing zombies one by one for 10+ minutes while looking for microscopic elements to collect.

I tried to give it a chance. Multiple times. Community maps might salvage the game, but I've had enough.

It's becoming quite a bite bloated, and the zoom-zoom meta is not for everyone.

Still, the best in its category. Only rivaled by Grim Dawn.

Weirdly addictive for such a simple game.

The OST is also extremely good.
