"Barrhell" shows tremendous promise, especially for a debut release from this studio. This game is set to join the ranks of challenging classics like "Getting Over It" and "Jump King," offering a unique hellish experience right from the start.

Taking the "simple to learn, hard to master" concept and pushing it to its limits, "Barrhell" demands quick reflexes and a steady soul. You might want to reinforce your gaming chair's seat because that last missed jump might just have you clenching your cheeks right through it.

Infernal and infuriating in all the best ways, I'm excited and scared to see what the future will bring. For those who love to test their skills and patience, "Barrhell" is a must-play.

Several parts of this game keep me coming back:

The majority of the community is very welcoming to new players, and always willing to give advice and help out the new tykes. Though there are a few bad eggs, it is much more likely that newcomers will be met with positivity.

It is very easy to choose your play time. If you have 15 minutes or a few hours to play there is a game type for you. The settings of each match are right out in the open for all the players to see, and if any of them are changed all the layers have to agree to the change before the round can start. If you joined a game and the health suddenly got tripled, meaning that the game was probably gonna be three times longer, that change is very clear and you can make an informed decision on weather or not to "ready up" again.

And finally there always feels like there's something to learn or work towards. I'm not someone who plans on mastering a game. I play because I enjoy it. ShellShock Live still manages to get me involved in the progression system, and encourages me to use new weapons and master old ones. It does this through two main methods. 1. There are dozens of progression systems working at once. Each game gives you exp towards leveling up, and each level gets you a new weapon. But each weapon also has multiple tiers which need to me unlocked by dealing damage with that weapon. And 2. You can get a taste of weapons you haven't unlocked yet through random pickups in each game. Boxes drop in at random intervals in the game that have a chance to give you any weapon in the game. This means you might get to use an awesome late game weapon you would have never got to experience otherwise. Which makes spending more time in this game desirable.

All in all I really enjoy ShellShock Live and would suggest it to anyone with any gaming skill level or knowledge. Its basic principles are easy to understand by anyone. Point gun at target and shoot. Bullet is heavily influenced by gravity. Each weapon does its own special predictable thing. Simple weapons are what you have at first, and more complicated ones will come in the future. If you're looking to connect with someone through games, but they might not be comfortable with other types of multiplayer games. This is a lovely game for all skill levels.

Ghost Master was a great game, because it did what it needed, and stoped there. It was able to make a simple, straight forward game, and managed to make a game that keeps me coming back to look for better ways to scare people. If you like games like Psychonauts, you'll enjoy this game.
