Early Access Review
Given the actual stage of development, I wouldn't recommend to buy this game.
It is not about bugs, as I was lucky enough not to find them, but rather the game mechanics which, right now, are just broken:

1. Enemies AI is inexistent: the poorly designed creatures will try recklessly to jump on you, ending slaughtered by your absurd amount of weapons. Stupidly enough, you can simply outsmart them by strafing left or right and beating the living crap out of anyone. So what's even the point with fighting them? Furthermore, to give this indecency a balance, programmers made the damage of mobs disproportionate, in order to give enemies the slightest semblance of threat.

2. Items and drops: I spent almost 2 hours of the adventure destroying a multitude of crates and barrels that continuously drop mana / health potions, always ending up with mana and life at the maximum. It's quite obvious that just this mechanic destroys the challenge of the game.

3. Blacksmith: why am I given the chance to buy weapons that I'll find FOR FREE a few steps ahead from this feller? Why not give the blacksmith some resemblence of profundity by providing him with quests that will unlock special items? Furthermore, due to the afore mentioned continous drops of gold from barrels/crates, in the very first encounter with this feller, you'll be already able to buy the sword, which is absurdly overpowered.

4. The spells: Jesus Christ. Why on Earth would someone use spells JUST to solve puzzles? Wow, I used firebolts to destroy webs, that's FUN! Have you ever played Dark Messiah of Might and Magic? Why not give the player an offensive tool that he/she may combine with physical weapons in a creative and personal way?
Let me answer that: the developers forbid this chance as they KNOW that using spells this way will just destroy the weak game mechanics, with players killing entire HORDES with a simple spell. Again: JESUS!

5. Models and environment: there's nothing bad about the overall aesthetic mood of this work. Dark and fantasy-looking as we, lazy nerdy fattyasses, love. I'm not a developer and I can barely imagine how hard must be to work on models and maps, but during my adventure I felt like the overall implant lacks any sort of artistic inspiration. At the current point of the adventure, the PNGs and monster models are quite anonymous (especially that flying d@#k with wings). The maps feel uninspired and quite empty, but since this is a EA I'm confident that the devs will make the environment more interesting.

I don't mean to be harsh on the developers or the game itself, as it has some potential and I was sincerely thrilled and hyped by its release. I still believe in this project and I want this review to be a food of thought to think about the chance to reconsider/change some development choices. From my point of view, this games has some REALLY BAD FLAWS on its own CONCEPT, which, I think, is the worst for a videogame beyond graphic issues, bugs etc.

Since it is an EARLY ACCESS I still want to give it the benefit of the doubt and I am aware that the developers are actively working hard to solve the various problems reported by users.
By now, the atmosphere looks great and you can tell the effort the developers spent in recreating a plausible old style fps. In the future, who knows, it could be a decent game, but at the moment it looks like a '98 fps, and a bad one, produced by a studio of desperate prisoners locked up in a Soviet bunker. We're talking about 3D realms, what the heck, I expect a lot more from this team.

Masterpiece! 9/10
