Awesome 4x strategy. Lead your dynasty to glory and all that jazz. Don't forget to bang your sister on your way out of the room.

Early Access Review
I picked up this game knowing what I would be getting into. I have played many games that are currently in EA or just shuttered (Lookin at you Of Kings and Men!). I expected frequent crashes and reverts, graphical lag and hangups, painful server connections, and the myriad of other problems that come with Early Access games. What I did not expect was to have to continually adjust my resolution in game as well as my monitors refresh rate in order to resolve a flickering green and purple screen few minutes. I spent half an hour playing, and liked what I saw, but I could not truly enjoy the game with the efforts I was having to go through to resolve a recurring issue. I might pick it back up in a few months time if it's not shut down before.

TLDR: Great game. PvP can be annoying depending on server. Some great PVE communities. Play on Unofficial Servers for best experience.

Being a fan of Robert Howard from a young age, this game truly hits all the marks in terms of Conan lore in its design. Whether you play on a PvP or PvE server you're going to be enthralled by the brutal but elegant design of the terrain, creatures and gear. As you level your character you will know the thrill of be chased by a pack of Heyenas, scaling a cliff in a desperate attempt to save yourself, seeing a well armored savior wade into the pack of heyenas, slaying them with a mighty sword...only to draw a bow and send you to a plummeting death with a well placed arrow to your back. The final experience will obviously only be on a PvP server.

While the combat at present is pretty...uninspiring...Funcom seems to be listening to their community and will be revsing it, Building is getting much better, and there have been huge strides lately (Stacking Triangle foundations!). Another feature that was added just this week is Climbing. This has added a whole new aspect to base building as between it, and primative elevators, we should hopefully see less of the eyesore scaffolds clambering up mountains and pillars.

I'll rate this game 11/10: Would push a wheel of pain again.

TLDR: Great game after Pathfinder and Foundations update added more to do. Worth a purchase if it is on sale.

My hours played are incorrect since I only recently purchased the PC version of NMS. I have roughly 300 hours played total between the PS4 and PC. I will admit that I jumped on the hype wagon early on with NMS and while I enjoyed it on the PS4 I quit playing after about 40 hours out of boredom. The two updates that have happend since have done a lot to increase the playability of the game, and has been the main driver I have came back to the game last month and played as much as I have. I have also felt the quality of the game to be improved so much that I took advantage of the Steam Summer Sale to purchase it for my PC.

Graphicaly the game runs very well on my rig. If you run SLI you will have to force multiple GPU's in your profile. So far I have had no problems except for when I first load in, my fps drops from my hardcapped 90 to 5fps while the cinematic letterbox is displaying. This only happens with SLI forced and only on the initial loading of my save.

The Pathfinder and Foundations updates have introduced a few more survival mechanics that were sorely missing in the initial release, namely Vehicles and Base Building, as well as updates to the crafting system which includes many new pieces of tech for your multi-tools and ships. Also, advanced difficulty levels, including PERMADEATH have been introduced. There is also a creative mode that is great for experiementing on base designs or just letting your younger children have a good time hunting "dinosaurs".

While some of the complaints from the early game are still present, they do not seem as noticable as before. There seems to be much more variety in the planets I am encountering on both platforms then there was at first release, but about a third of the planets seem to be planets I've encountered before.

Also still missing is any true multiplayer aspect. While one can join the Hub Community and settle near worlds actively settled by others as well, you will never see these other players or interact with them save for the odd message module dropped by their base. While it is rumored that Patch 1.3 will include full multiplayer, I will personally not count on that happening, though I hope to be surprised.

Unless 1.3 adds many upgrades and surprises, at this point I would reccomend buying this game while it is on sale.
