Yeah, Steam sells a lot of older games that aren't compatible on newer systems sadly.

Lucky :) my heart breaks with bethesda not fixing there broken games. Steam should say not optimised for windows 7 and 10 >< i hear GOG fixes this game.

Simple INI fix doesn't solve all the problems for start up.... you have to fix other problems to run this game in cases.

You could do that too yeah. However, if you're only interested in, or only own Fallout 3, then thats what the guide is for.
