Played quite a bit in alpha(?) and had a lot of fun, tried a bit of the release, and have a little bit of lag, but somewhat expected from an indie dev.
No game changing content hidden behind a paywall, and almost all cosmetics are unlockable through playtime, and also have no effect on gameplay. I'm okay with purchasable cosmetics especially since they aren't iconic characters that players would buy the game just to play as (i.e. Dan, Arin, etc)
Fun mechanics and unique idea, definitely something to try for fun! I enjoy the visuals, but can be a bit much at times personally.

Pros: Pretty fun, goof and gaffs with your friends, If you shoot the sun in the barn he sings a song and you can annoy your friends with it

Cons: Not worth it if your friends dont wanna meme with you

Slime Rancher is a short game as of the moment with only 7 catchable slimes, 3 Chicken breeds, 6 explorable areas (Not including the few that you can fly to that have no content yet), 3 Gordo slime to feed, a self-cleaning mechanic so areas are refreshed from largo slimes, possibly 21 combinations of slimes currently? (Im not entire sure as I haven't tried a lot of combinations), upgrades to health, energy, storage, a pulse wave, and a jetpack. There are boxes spread around the island that contain the basic items you can find, but also have some quick gold inside. There is the wonder of seeing your first golden slime and wondering if youre supposed to pick it up or feed it really quick. And upgrades for the ranch? Dont even get me started. Around 25 possible areas to house slimes, chickens, fruit farms, vegetable gardens, an incinerator, a silo for storage, and a pond for storing puddle slimes. You can house your basic slimes there seperate so you can collect them all, or combine them to reap a better harvest! But hopefully you have the food and money to keep up with them! Its cute and quirky and gives me something relaxing to play in my off time or at my friends house. I can't wait to see the end product and add a whole new collection of slimes to my house!
