Usually I like added depth, but I usually play with trade and economic dominance. But this isn't possible anymore with the new power bloc mechanic. You can no longer get others into your market, you have to have them in your power bloc which has 10 layers of complexity (leverage, economic dependence, cohesion) and basically all you get after fussing around with all these new modifiers is someone in your market. It's just too much complexity for basically no real changes in the game.

I only play offline. But playing against the AI feels worse than previous iterations. When the AI does an off the ball screen when attacking, the "hitbox" of the player is bigger than a car so they basically make everyone within 2 meters of them fall over themselves. Almost every score from the AI is from a player being left open because one of my defenders have fallen over their screen. It really breaks immersion, and comes close to making me break the controller. Can't recommend playing this against AI.

The game is ported from console with 0 optimization for PC. Technical performance is rubbish; stuttering screen with a 4090. Looks like I''m playing in 15 FPS with fuzzy mobile icons in the actual game. The responsiveness of the actual players to your controller input is rubbish; commensurate with the delayed frame rates. Expect a really unresponsive feel. The User Interface has gotten worse, more clicks to get anywhere, confusing menu layouts, and bugs with tactics not saving and needing to modify your custom tactics EVERY GAME. Then the rubber banding effect in game has been dialed up, teams will come back where you have 0 control over the outcome, but then amplify this effect with the crap responsiveness from the technical side of the game due to rubbish porting from console, and you literally have no control over anything when the rubber banding starts as your inputs are delayed by 1 second lag on top of the AI deciding it's time for you to lose. Crap game. Shameful crap from this shameful trash company EA.

I hesitated on buying this because, though I really enjoyed most aspects of the game, I didn't like the combat in Kingdom Come Deliverance 1. It felt clunky, and basically came down to countering with a Master Strike; wait for the opponent to attack then counter. Never attack first. It was really predictable, and stale.

In this instalment combat is exciting. I'm not sure exactly why but it seems more responsive and intuitive. I look forward to combat, where in the first one it was the worst aspect of the game for me. So if you are hesitating because, like me, you think the combat is clunky, then get the game! Outside of the combat, the game is beautiful, immersive, and a really engaging RPG that will probably contend for GoTY.

It's what I've been looking for since Diablo 2. People saying loot is slow, and difficulty is high.... This isn't for the ADHD crowd who need a dopamine hit every second with a full screen of colours and death and 1000 items dropping a minute. Drops matter again. It's slower paced so everything has more meaning again. If you just want to point and click and the screen flashes with explosions, there's enough games that cater to that already.

I want to give this a like. But in the current state of the career mode, I have to say I wish I waited afew more months because by the time this is out of Beta mode, I will have lost interest in playing it.

The career mode is very buggy. I've spent 30 hours in game, but half of that is replaying career missions because something bugged out and I had to start the same mission again. Then there is the fuel bugs, which means you can't change the fuel in aircraft, and you aren't given enough for the longer flights (each plane has different default starting amount which doesn't actually align with the indicated fuel). There is a workaround which only works for a couple of planes, so effectively I paid for the extra planes but can't use any of them in Career mode because you can't actually change the fuel. This is quite game breaking. There are multiple bugs littered around Career mode that penalize you for arbitrary things, (e.g. extending flaps beyond airspeed while at a stand still) which plague the entire experience. I am mal-adapting my flights to work around bugs the entire time. Finishing one flight without a bug feels like more of an achievement battling the system then actually flying the aircraft.

You're also limited to what planes are available in Career Mode, so don't buy the extra planes thinking you'll use them there. They're just for free flights. Sim rate doesn't actually change anything other than yourself, so all other planes fly at normal speed while you have x8 turned on. The clock, sun and fuel rate don't align to the sim rate. So you can fly a long haul flight with sim rate turned up, and you won't change time, or fuel rates. Almost everything that could not work, is not working correctly in this game. It's garbage, disrespectful, shame on the people who decided to push this out for $$$.

Edit - I tried again since the new "Sim Update", now I can't even load a career mission it's just stuck (I've left it loading for 40 minutes +). Appalling crap. They are breaking the game more every update.

It's visually stunning, and satisfies the void left by the Cities Skylines 2 debacle. It provides actual innovations on the city building genre, like irregular shaped zoning and auto detailing cities.

Brilliantly fills the void left by the Cities Skylines 2 debacle, delivering an actual economic simulation. I hope someone is able to combine this level of economic simulation with the graphics from Manor Lords, then we could have a true successor to Cities Skylines 1.
