I like to end my posts in a polite and positive manner, and give them a definite ending as they can be quite long. It's something I've done on many different forums for many years, and I feel like I'm being rude if I don't do it.

You aren't the first person to compare it to a letter or a work email. Funny thing is mine don't look like that, as for example if I was writing a letter I'd have my address and the date at the top.
