Half-Life Alyx is visually great but the gameplay feels dated.

First off the visual quality and presentation of HLA is the best I have ever seen in VR, on this level it is the best looking VR game to date. However, the gameplay feels like it is from 2016. The level design was clearly based around teleporting, the weapons are locked to your dominant hand that can only be changed threw a menu and there is no way to control your flashlight.

Boneworks and TWD Saints & Sinners really raised the bar for VR gameplay. While Boneworks physics simulation was amazing, the level of simulation left it feeling a little janky. TWD Saints and sinners, on the other hand, had a much better balance between physics simulation and gamification. for example, to climb a ledge in BW you had to grab on with both hands, push your self up while crouching at the same time so your legs could make it over the edge. In TWD S&S you simply grab the ledge with one hand push your self up and the game volts you to the ledge. In HLA you teleport.......

In Half-Life Alyx there is no jumping or climbing, no sprinting, you cant hold guns in both hands you cant holster weapons and you have no control over your flashlight, it just all feels so behind. Gameplay feels closer to Arizona Sunshine, which is a great game btw, but was most likely designed in 2014 and released in 2016. To this day Half-Life 2 is a gold standard of first-person action-adventure games that still holds up. Half-Life Alyx gameplay feels behind from day one. I guess I was just expecting too much from Valve. While HLA is the most beautiful VR game I have ever seen, its gameplay leaves something to be desired for a VR game in 2020.

If you love the Mad Max game and Doom 2016 its a must buy in my book.

Imagine you once ate this amazing pizza and it was so good it never left your mind and then one day the restaurant that made that pizza ...lets call them Bethpizzda said, hey guys we're making a new pizza! It's going to be great! And you’re like OMG i love your pizza i can't wait. You show up you pay for the pizza without a second thought but once you open the box you're confused… this isn't a pizza its a burrito….. I mean it is food and a good burrito but i came here for that amazing pizza. Hey guys what happend to your pizza this is a burrito. Well you see pizzas can be a bit of a challenge to eat sometimes you have to carry around this big box, sometimes you have to get a plate and it can be a bit hard to poll apart a slice without making a mess. Burritos are much easier to eat and much more widely accepted so this is our pizza now…..oh.....thanks Bethpizzda……….thanks….

I'm starting to believe bethesda has forgotten what made their games different. people were mad because they weren't really able to be "bad" in the core game so they release a dlc that only really lets you be "bad" what they continue to fail an realize is people were mad because WE HAD NO REAL CHOICE IN THE GAME! you were just the good guy/girl that couldn't really make any meaningful choices in the game or be an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ or a psycho or manipulate people change their views or the direction of misguided factions. So they release this crap. If you don't want to be a douchebag raider then you don't get any story at all you either go into this willing to be a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ raider enslaving people or you have to spend the entire dlc on a mass killing spree and end with no real story. Far Harbor is just about the only thing in all of the fallout 4 content that had real choices and a good story. Kinda really wish i would have never played nuka world so i could have gone out on a high note. But no just another beautiful pointless world. Makes me very worried about the future of Elder Scrolls and fallout. If you want a new location with choices just play Far Harbor. If you don't mind being forced to be a ♥♥♥♥ raider don't care about story and just want to run a round shutting crap then go ahead and play Nuka world

the Aliens Franchise has been one of my favorite pieces of fiction basically my whole life and this game feels like its a movie that some how i never knew about. it truly captures the feel of the movies and is an excellent game. i would recommend this to any fan of sci fi horror or Alien's fan this is my top game of the year. hands down
