An interesting take on Card Game / RPG / Roguelike hybrid. I like the mechanic of dumping cards to the discard pile to gain extra action points (earned quite a few 1 turn kill combos that way). I do like the card combinations and various synergies thus far, and I due appreciate the card upgrades system as well.

EDIT: Some previously written issues turned out to be user error, and thus deleted that portion of the commentary above. Other than that, the above aforementioned is exactly the same prior to the deleted, and erroneous (on my part again, *sigh*) critique.

What an interesting take on a Bullethell. Thematically, it's unique and stands out for it's artistic asthetic. It's fun, charming and you will feel good about making monsters love you, instead of trying to kill them. Thumbs up!

INTRUDER ALERT! INTRUDER ALERT! This gamer is going BERZERK over your homage to that 80's classic... but it soo much more... BTW Love the pet that you can unlock! Nice touch!! Most gamers who are old like me, should recognize my aforementioned references.

The gameplay is fast and responsive using Logictech F310 controllers (sorry I don't own the others to test them out). When I play this game I am taken back to the 80's when I used to play Berzerk religiously, often saving my lunch money for after school arcade fun. Thank you dev., for such a delightful, fast-paced, robo-destruction fun! Love the upgrade systems, love the old school graphics but with modern day lighting and neon affects... In fact, I love everything about this game! Good Job!

REVIEW UPDATED: Changed form Not Recommended to RECOMENDED!!! As of June 11, 2016.

The Problem was I had my PhysX set to ON in the options for the game. If anyone else experienced the same thing (See old Review Below for reference), turn OFF PhysX option in the game's option menu. Now running full resolution, full shader on high... all maxed settings and no framerate issues occur. I will leave the old review below to help out anyone else that may have had similar problem with nVidia PhysX option. Thank you Gearbox this is the new love of my life! ;)

OLD REVIEW BELOW IS FOR REFERENCE ONLY; PRIMARILY TO HELP ANYONE ELSE OUT.

I really want to recommend this game.... BUT, there seems to be a major problem with the horrendous frame rates on my PC. I have an AMD 8 core cpu / 16 Gigs DDR3 3300 / 3-Way sli... my machine is fast, the mobo is matches the DDR3 ram speeds. All other new games seems to work fine except for Battleborn!!!!

In multiplayer, the frame rate starts fine in the begining, HOWEVER, when players are near (close range especially), the frame rate drops to 4-20 FPS erratically. One second I'm killing someone, the next, the screen freezes... then automatic-magic death! If this is happening to other PC players, pls post it to let Gearbox know! Believe me, I'm not hating on this game... I absolutely love the gameplay concept... I mean I really LOVE this game... but with such an erractic fps optimization, it brings me to near tears. Seriously, have I mentioned how much I LOVE this game??? I do (not being sarcastic too!).

Please Gearbox, I'm begging you, please fix the PC optimiization... also while you're at it, can you do something about the long waiting queues for multiplayer matches??? Sometimes the wait is 20+mins.

As of it's current state, I reluctantly cannot recommend this game that I truly LOVE... sigh.... seriously... fix this game, Gearbox. :(

And here's the most pathetic part, I will probabaly still play it with all it's downfalls... ugh... I must be a masochist! :/

Some have said this to be the spiritual successor to D2... From some of the makers of Titan's Quest, this is already looking to put to rest D3. With hectic fast-paced action, to the atmospheric "doom and gloom" driven music, to the armor and weapons stat-driven random goodness.... this hack-n-slash has something for every type of rpg gamer! And this review was done based on the alpha... just imagine it on release!! Thumps WAY UP so far!

It's fun, fast, and got some fun power-ups, works well with my dual analog controller, and has quite a few unlockable cars to earn 19.99 is not a bad price, but if it goes on sale, snap it up in a heartbeat!
