The Raccoon Police Department
Special Tactics And Rescue Squad
(S.T.A.R.S.) is comprised of
12 dedicated police officers
who are specially trained in
the areas of special weapons
and tactics.Team members are
selected from both patrol and
detective bureaus and are
required to attend a 2 week
basic SWAT school.
They are required to maintain
top physical condition.

The S.T.A.R.S. Team's function
is to safely resolve critical
incidents. They are called upon
to handle barricaded gunman-hostage
situations,execute violent
felony warrants, parole warrants
and drug search warrants.

Along with the 12 team members,
S.T.A.R.S. has five hostage
negotiators and a level III
Emergency Medical Technician.
