I've got a few hours under my belt now... about 1800 hours so i figured i would make this extremely delayed review . I have played ARPG's since diablo was released on playstation and i fell in love with the genre instantly , what's not to like... slaying hordes of monsters for epic loot .
But i don't automatically like all ARPGs.. they have to meet very specific demands. Very versatile classbuilding , fun and engaging gameplay , cool graphics and targeted item farming. Grim dawn has all of that, it has THE best class-building or all ARPGs currently on the market imo, you don't need to be a mathematician (yes you PoE) so make a great build. You can make a build for pretty much ANY prefered gameplay style, you can even make a build based on very specific weapons that drops in the game.

I followed the development of Grim dawn since the very start, from when the max level was 8, and i've encountered ZERO bugs - maybe i was lucky - but this is an extremely polished and stable game, and because it has a few years of age, you don't need a super PC to fully enjoy the game.
The controlls are fully costumizable, there's an extensive loot-filter, and the faction-gameplay is a must, if you don't want to miss a lot of good story and items.. more items. And during the still ongoing development, the world continues to open up more areas.. more secret quests and secret bosses, more DLCs (which are well worth it) .

I would honestly say, out of all ARPG's i have played , Grim Dawn is hands down the best, most fun and most polished i have ever played. I would dare say this is the perfect ARGP - atleast imo . Well worth buying the complete pack at full price, you won't regret it.

I think seeing by my nickname alone that you could guess i'm a huge Warhammer fan, but i'm not above saying when something's wrong or just plain suck - that goes to the fanatical fans.

I play this game in 1080p on ultra settings with non-needed settings lowered to gain the most frames per second because who would want to play this glorious game stuttering.

My system.
AMD Ryzen 7 5700X
32Gb DDR4 Ram.
AMD Radeon RX6750 XT 12Gb vram.
Game installed on a very fast M2 drive.
So now to the game..

At first when i started this game and the story, getting introduced to the mechanics, it left me feeling like i was WAY out of my league because .... i had problem dodging, blocking, controls seemed counter intuitive - but after playing 30 min or so, i started adapting and actually enjoying the the game instead of focusing on what was feeling strange.

GAMEPLAY.
The game looks AMAZING, it even rivals it's cousin - Spacehulk Deathwing Enhanced Edition - which also looks untterly mindblowing. Everything feels big and heavy without feeling slow considering that you're playing as a 2.5 meter tall ironclad hulking man of brute force, you move damn fast .
Some players has issues with the game feeling like a "press E" simulator, but imo those people are trying to find things that are wrong , the E-key has always been a key of interaction because of it's placement, and there are a lot of things to interact with - otherwise it would be a boring game if things were automated.

I guess my only issue with the gameplay is that between each mission you are taken to the ship and if you forget to setup your character before going out again, you will spawn in the next mission with your basic gear.. it's not a gamebreaker, but i think this it something that should be sorted out so you can set your "to go" gear automatically before missions.

Another thing i noticed which is really cool and helps the player noticed just how powerful spacemarines are, is that plenty of occasions, you can actually see soldiers kneel in awe, because you're considered one of the emperors angels.

STORY.
The story is great, and it's tied directly to the aftermath of Spacemarine 2, and we get to learn during the story just how powerful each of these Astartes are, how a few can turn the tide of a battle by not only inspiring the men around, but also with just pure brute force and skill.

Once you're done with the story, you get to start doing online modes with other players and build your own spacemarine as you want to play it, and i would HIGHLY recommend that you make up your mind which class works best for your own personal preference, and then start unlocking upgrades and change the looks.
Reason for this is that each mission you do, gives currency which is used to unlock appearences and each mission won also gives you tokens to improve your skills - and the more classes you spend these tokens on in the beginning, the less strong your prefered class will be.
I decided i wanted to play Bulwark because that's my style , and every points i've earned sofar has gone into improving my gameplay. There are 6 classes, each with a very distinct way of playing, killing and surviving, but the devs has revealed that they're planning on adding more classes as well as a lot more content for multiplayer - including a new harder mode.... as if the game wasn't hard enough.
(I died twice on the first mission on normal and i consider myself good) .

GRAPHICS.
Honestly.. if i wasn't constantly defending myself or my team from Xenos or heretics, i would be walking around in amazement over how gorgeous this game is. The amount of details in EVERYTHING makes me question , how.. just how did they manage to get SO much detail into this game .. Just like Spacehulk Deathwing , this game is very pleasing to look at , and any person who likes the art of Warhammer 40k will feel right at home .
The armors of the spacemarines are something else entierly... i could go on and on about the details , shaders , dept .. it's just beautiful. It doens't look shiny, it just looks gritty, like they just came from one war into another, from one fight to the next - never ending .

BUGS?.
In my xx hours played i have only encountered ONE bug and it wasn't even bad, my loadingscreen simply turned eternal and i simply restarted the game... ONE bug - i can live with that in this game.

CLOSURE.

I would say, if you're a fan of 40k and you like shooters... and your PC isn't comparable to a toaster, then i would buy this game... and if you can't spend 70€ now... start saving.
Spacemarine 2 is worth every penny of 70€ , the game is utterly amazing and considering that us 40k fans don't get many good games these days, Spacemarine 2 is a blessing - the is no other way to say it.

The devs should be extremely proud over this game, it's imo a masterpiece and one of the most well made games i have play as of late.

FOR THE EMPEROR !!.

Don't buy this piece of ♥♥♥♥, don't support greedy bethesda.

Everyone says "mod the game" because it's core feature - shipbuilding - is extremely limted but bethesda first wants you to pay 4€ for Creations so you can use mods ingame officially, then they take 75% of each payment paid to the modders - so they can get more money.

And you need to buy points with microtransactions to get creations points... for more,
even more money to greedy betheda.

Had i known how ♥♥♥♥♥ greedy they would become, and start taking players money
to use mods...i wouldn't never have bought it.

What can i say.. I love a good hack'n slash like diablo and if the story is good and
it had good voice acting, it's even better.

This DLC, Prophecy is imo a great game if you like Warhammer AND you like diablo,
there is no better game currently on the market that mixes the 2 games into one.
It's 5 different playable classes, each with their own 3 subclasses leaves much for
a variety of builds.
The game doens't have P2W microtransactions, it's all cosmetics, and the graphics
in this game is awesome, and at times you'd think the game sells under 'mature audiences" only because of all the blood and guts everywhere, but it's the grim dark of Warhammer 40k.

The game is under constant development, the devs are on a daily basis in direct contact with
the playerbase on the discord. Seasons being released with both new armors and weapons
that are - unlike some other games - worth getting.

The playerbase is extremely helpful, countless videos on YT with guides if you find yourself struggling. Controls are on the spot, direct and without issues. I've played this game using kb/m without issues since i started playing it, never used controller, never had any problems.

The game is totally worth buying even at full price, and i would actually recommend buying
it at full price to support the devs more, the game is worth every penny if you like hack'n slash, and warhammer.

Quiet possibly one of the greatest rpg currently on the market for PC players,
and easily on my personal top 5 rpg's of all times, and for it's price, it's like getting
your hands on a De tomaso Pantera in mint condition for 100$ .

The game's graphics might show it's age but that is made up for with a great story,
open world and fun gameplay many times over. And just when you think you've beaten
the game... think again, head to the hidden isle and get your face bashed in while
you continue to strengthen your character and party.

I could write pages about everything in this game.. but in short, if you like RPGs and
you have a PC that isn't 15+ years old, buy this game. It's totally worth full price but
if you're cheap... buy it on sale .

but... BUY IT.

Totally unique and absolutely amazing game, there's not much else to say about it.
Either you will love this game or hate it, this genre of games is not for everyone,
but for those who enjoys these types of games, this is a gem.

And for a measly 8£ , i don't think i've bought a game i enjoy more, for this amount of money.

Yes the game is hard and unforgiving, and sometimes spending your money on an upgrade
might actually be a downgrade on your ship's overall performance because everything is taken into
account when it comes to ship handling.

I found myself being tired of having to return too early to Enceladus to refill my fuel on my
starting ship so i spent 70.000 credits on the second largest fueltank, but i didn't take in
account that more fuel = more weight and my standard engines suddenly had problems handling
the new increased weight from fuel combined with minerals i picked up... and filling up that
huge tank of fuel cost me almost more than i brought in, in value of minerals.

Everything has a reaction to what you do, so tread carefully.

This is a simple review of a very very large game .

First... don't listen to all those nay-sayers complaining about bad UI... they expect a game
as deep as X4 to have a 4 button UI played with 1 hand.

Do you want to be a warlord conqueror that takes all ? - you can .
Do you want to be an industrialist that feeds the entire universe ? - you can.
Do you want to be a part of epic plots that changes the political landscape of the universe ? - you can.

I am almost 500 hours into the game, i just BARELY got finished settings up the PHQ
and with a reasonably large industrial power to back it up with materials.
I'm am in the process of building the 3rd main fleet that will consist of Argon only ships.

I haven't bought the CoH DLC yet and i just bought the Split Vendetta, which brought a ton
of new sectors to explore, reputations to build and plots to solve

The devs are constantly working on improving the game, and they pay huge attention
to player feedback on the forums. I always say that X3TC is the best 4X game ever made,
and i stand by that, but X4 Foundations with or without DLC's is close second.

To wrap it up . Did you answer yes to any of the questions at the start of the review, buy X4.

Fast review to support the game.

If you like Hack'n slash combined with good storytelling, AND you're a fan of Warhammer,
this game is a must have in your library, and don't forget to get the DLC Prophecy.
Some people havs complained over bad controlls. I play Mouse/Kb and it's perfectly fine.

Extended review coming soon ™.

As an old fan of the pen&paper RPG's like d&d and Mutant, and also a huge nerd
for spaceships, lazors and pew pew - this was was an immidiate purchace eventho
it's on Early Access and i tent to stay away from those...mostly.

With only 2 devs working on this, they've created a fun, engaging spaceship simulator
that throws you into the role of a captain that is forced into a conflict and not
much to do at except both sides pointing fingers, and it is up to you which side you want to take.

Plenty of ships, tons of weapons and offensive /defensive shipmods. You will also have
a crew you have to manage, level up and attend to. Do you want your crew to simply be a
pack of suicidal maniacs who only cares about increasing the damage of the ship... ok do it.
Or do you want your crew to turn your ship into a speedster with armortank... ok that works.

Basically there are 3 types of crewmembers. Science, Engineer and Specialist, and each of those
has 3 areas in which they can focus on, or however you want them to be.
Crewmembers gains xp as you make your way in the game, they level up and it's up to you
where you want to spend those points. Your crew also gets wounded in combat and can
even die if you don't tend to their wounds in the ship's medical bay.

You can loot and research weapons, find hidden quests in both stations and on planets,
some quests will have your back against the wall when picking which option to proceed
with the quest... There are many quests where i've spent many minutes considering which
option to pick because ... sometimes it's just that well written and hard to decide.

The game also features a DICE mechanic, which i love. The higher score you and your crew has
in certain areas, the more dice's you get to throw in the minigames, and these are the deciding
factor in the outcome of some important engagements. Some people hate the dice.. i don't.

For example. If you have at least one crewmember focusing on healing & medical, that crewmember
will increase your dice on missions or events where you have to toss dice on wether or not you
successfully save someone from being poisoned to death.

The crew system is pretty straight foward and easy to learn, and also very important for you.

The storyline is very well written and can at times be a real nailbiter. There is a lot of things
constantly going on and actually reading the dialogue is important to give you a better
understanding of both what's going on what help you pick the outcome that suits your playstyle.

You can play this story several times and possibly get completely different companions and
engagements every time. Do you or don't you side with a captain to destroy a station ?. up to you.
Do you help a female racer to take care of a mobster blackmailing her or not ?.
Your ships pilot just avoided crashing your ship into an asteroid, do you reprimand him/her ?.

The game is still in early access. The 2 devs are constantly in touch with the players
and more chapters are coming, including new features etc etc.

I'd say it's worth every penny, i've had a lot of fun and i'm still hunting for better weapons.
