Fun game. Pretty good narrative. Attractive Russian girls!

Very buggy.

I haven't played the extra DLC stuff for it, as of yet.

Seems they've also not fixed that whole save-game corruption thing yet. It is very playable, though! Expect frustration when something goes wrong such as absurdly long load times and the whole "losing your progress due to that save-game corruption bit." If you're a fan of the chronology, you're likely going to play it anyways.

Great game! Will not disappoint nostalgia-seekers, either.
That gosh darn mouse acceleration, though!
What are you waiting for?

I like this game and all that, but it's not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Jurassic Park, it's northern Canada. Jesus.
That is all.
Thanks.

Early Access Review
I bought this game years ago and I played it once for several hours, or something. Now I ritualistically return to the Store Page in order to read new reviews every few months for entertainment. It's the only thing that makes its purchase feel worthwhile. Thanks, Steam community.

If you intend to play this game, purchase the console version or something.
It's an awful port, for example: the audio doesn't work on any chipset that I've ever tried it on. I've installed this game on several machines (mine and my friends') and it doesn't produce sound properly on any of them. I've tried playing it with various integrated, crappy and very common chipsets as well as several Creative Labs and ASUS PCI-E products. None of them work with the game properly; it's astounding. There are other things to pick at, surely, but this is what bothered me the most ...especially since the game heavily relies on sound to create atmosphere and suspense, etcetera.
The game itself may or may not sate the desire of a Silent Hill fan's want of a Silent Hill experience. It borrows a few bits from the film and is sort of reminiscent of the visual aesthetics of it's predecessors along with some creative new elements and it's own story-line. Anyhow, if you decide to buy it, good luck!
