This game is a cautionary tale on how making your game free can actually hurt your reviews. A staggering amount of the interaction with this game is from when the game was given away for free. As you can see many people played the game for less than ten minutes and left a scathing review. Furthermore you can see that over 8% of people have all the rarest achievements. If you look at these stats it is clear that over 8% of the people who played this game used the achievement unlocker to unlock all the achievements (8.3% of users have the achievement for 10000 deaths and 8.3% of users have the achievement for no deaths).

There are are many indie platforming masterpieces, it's an over-saturated market. POLE is just fine. This game is only worth your time if you're really into games with slightly unusual controls. I used a keyboard and it played fine, I think many negative reviewers were using a controller. It's a perfectly adequate platformer, it's a little hard, I'd compare the difficulty to a beginner Kaizo Mario romhack, I'd recommend trying the demo to see if it's too hard for you. This is not a Getting Over It-like.

I didn't find the writing charming but it didn't annoy me either. The true ending is surprisingly polished and I think is worth the extra effort to get.

The single player campaign is amazing. It might not resonate with everyone but it bummed me out more than any serious art game I've ever played.

Multiplayer is good. It's fine.

I can count the good coop puzzle adventure games on one hand and I only have three fingers.

Sven Coop is like my son. It's always disappointing but I love anyways.
