After originally dissing the game as a money sink I found myself going back to it. I've changed my opinion. For a free game, it has beautiful artwork, the narratives are compelling, the Chest puzzles are cleverly created and challenging. You can buy blue diamonds if you want to play through quickly, but I'm happy to dip in daily and play as far as I can. I will spend some money on diamonds but just to support the Devs who've done a cracking job and well, they have families to feed.

Pointless having it if you live in the UK as you can only purchase movies in the USA & random countries across Europe so far; don't know if it's licence issues or something. Plus I learned the hard way you need to know how to use the Troll Cage feature as I was trolled a few times, once by a pervert using the pens to constantly draw rude shapes & swearwords in front of my face as I tried to watch the film with the pens & making obscene gestures & no usher to report to; I could have been a kid! Wouldn't let a child use it without creating a safe space & supervision.

Early Access Review
5 minutes in got the thing moving, then the immersion was spoilt by 1st not finding a working door to get into the cabin so had to teleport into it then a tree branch swept through the cabin walls, leaves all around me. Disappointing; but early days

Being a Myst fan I fell for the sales pitch, paid to play the demo on SteamVR ages ago, terrific, loved it; but not one update in 2 years from the then 17 year old Tony Davidson's "father and son team" on any forum; they seem to have fizzled out without even the courtesy of being honest & braving up to inform paying Steam customers why. Such a shame & so dissapointing.

Now this Kickstarter style method of 'pay as you go' funding seems to be taking off, I wish Steam had a policy in place like Kickstarter that if Devs don't regulary update customers projects or their projects come to nothing they have to refund the backers; otherwise it encourages rougues to create a short sequence, trawl a few grand then vanish in the night.

I'm not buying anymore 'in developement' games unless they have an official website with a customer contact or an active Discord forum.

I've been a Myst Cyan franchise fan since they began & I've collected all their limited edition box sets, hence my joy & Kickstarter backing of Obduction for their physical boxed set to complete my collection. However, it was of it's time, utterly groundbreaking & gorgeous BUT... the Zadbox Entertainment team have taken their concept & gone way over their heads above the Myst series simple dysfunctional family narrative!

DON'T READ FURTHER IF YOU DON'T WANT A SPOILER. I've worked out the Library puzzle & I am totally gobsmacked as we Brits say! The projector cypher when worked out from the ego maniac latin quotes in prof's letters gives up 8 letters which make up the word SEACULUM, Latin for 'a length of time roughly equal to the potential lifetime of a person or the complete renewal of a population' & relates to Querns' narrative totally) BUT THEN goes even deeper than I thought possible which thrilled me; the meaning of each individual latin word taken from each letter in sequence then translated into English via a latin dictionary roughly makes up the phrase 'Skilled command himself scattered culture speedily increased everything'! How did the concept team conceive such an intelligent deeply layered gem for us to dig up? Must have required soooo much research, bravo! Plus Quern meaning "a simple hand mill for grinding corn" hysterical. Put 'my' corn cob brain through the mill that's for sure for sure, Puzzle intensive but their solution reveal & require not just mere 'clunk click' mechanical logic, most gorgeous 'thinkers' game I've ever played.
