Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap has been a surprisingly fun experience for me. Both the traps and the War Mages feel satisfying, blasting Orcs into gibs or watching them fly off into the sunset from spring loaded traps has been a blast. I find the games difficulty just hard enough to keep me on the edge of my seat while still feeling possible. Succumbing to the madness of and endless horde of orcs makes defeating them that much sweeter. The games new Threads system makes every match feel unique, and varying up my play style. No more finding what best variation, or choke points to funnel orcs through and repeat. Now barricades are limited, forcing you to get creative about what paths make. Sometimes you might need to endure splitting your focus on different areas on the map. But there are Threads and upgrades to allow for more barriers so you can make the choice between your perfect choke-point or extra power.
It's day 1 release so I expected a lot of silly little bugs, but honestly only experienced a few. Which I appreciate as a near clean launch seems rare nowadays. Game-play is smooth, the War Mages are responsive, jumping, running and shooting is solid.
War Mages are all unique and fun. I enjoyed how varied they all felt from one another, in addition some of the Threads (upgrades between rounds) can change how they play all together. Traps are varied in number and each have cool effects that make me eager to try to find creative ways to use them. And in multiplayer is where all the variety shines brightest. Each of my friends bringing their own heroes and sets of traps allow us to build off of each other, finding our own preferences and niches within the group.
All and all, if your looking for a defense game, solo or with friends, I would recommend this game. If not for the vast variety in War Mages and Traps, its worth it for the satisfaction of seeing swarms of the ever so Killable Orcs die in such delightful ways. It's rare a game sucks me in, and today It was Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap.

Only about 24 hours into the game and gotta say I'm really impressed. As a fan of the other Dragon Age games I was a bit worried about Veilguard, but I am pleasantly surprised. I haven't enjoyed playing an rpg this much since Inquisition. The game play loop feels great, and exploration is amazing, 24 hours in and I feel like I haven't even scratched the surface of the game's hidden treasures.
