Early Access Review
The scenery of Raft is incredibly atmospheric, relaxing, and beautiful. The gameplay of Raft quickly turns into a grind, and gets old losing much of it's appeal fairly quickly due to Raft still being developed. The storyline of Raft is quite depressing, and produces an extremely dismal backdrop worse than the most atmospheric zombie games like Dying Light. If you ignore the storyline, and just enjoy the gameplay Raft might be worth purchasing since you'll get a significant discount since Raft will be a fair bit more expensive upon release. Ultimately I can't suggest you purchase Raft in it's current state. I would suggest to wait till the game has been fully released to ensure there is enough meat to Raft's game world, and gameplay that will ensure you will enjoy what Raft has to offer.

Dark Gnome is a casual free-to-play single/co-op tactical turn-based RPG. Dark Gnome's main strength would lie in it's comedic pixelated graphics, and it's implementation of tried-and-true turn-based RPG progressionary leveling, equipment, unlockable NPC, and class system. Dark Gnome has a cash shop.

I have just started playing Dark Gnome, but I will come back to this review as I gain more information about the game.

Update: Dark Gnome is fun at the beginning, but after the battle cool down starts taking too long Dark Gnome starts getting very boring and hard to play. I would suggest potential players invest their time in another game.

Lunch 13 is a very unqiue mix of survival horror storytelling, and tactical turn-based RPG gameplay. The graphics, textures, and art of Lunch 13 are very unqiue, and well executed for an indie game. Lunch 13 is quite short but offers two seperate modes, "The Road to Freedom" which is the more structured and story driven mode, and the second game mode, "Flesh Machine" which is more action-based but still manages to have an interesting side story. Lunch 13 is a very philosophical game that makes some very astute observations of modern life in China which I found very impressive for an indie title. Although Lunch 13's gameplay may not be exciting enough for some gamers Lunch 13 more then makes up for it in it's cerebral approach to tactical turn-based RPG combat. The approach to using modern and improvised weapons was also an interesting gameplay element. As an indie title I would give Lunch 13 a 8/10 losing two points for it's shortness and lack of replayability, but for $1.09 CDN you cannot go wrong with Lunch 13 (午餐13). A great game from quan home, and the best game indie title I have played that has completely been made in China by a Chinese person.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl is one of the most atmospheric horror FPS games ever made. SoC has the deepest and the most well wrote scripts of all the titles from the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series. One of SoC's main features is exploring small, but fairly realistic open world environments where SoC allows the player several choices as how to approach various situations in SoC. SoC also has the boon of being very replayable, as well as offer expensive mod content title thanks to SoCs robust community of modders. You can expect everything from new weapons and locations to full story conversions with SoC mods.

SoC as well as other titles from the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series in general do have a lot of issues with bugs, various problems with the xray engine that the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games run on, and manual installations for mods which may not be for all potential players. But once you get used to frequent saving, and learning how to optimize SoC most SoC players will have a title they will look forward to continuing to coming back again and again.

Transmissions: Element 120 is a short handcrafted Half-life 2 mod that stays true to the atmosphere and gameplay of Half-life 2 in a side-story fashion. Transmissions: Element 120 doesn't really have an extensive storyline, but messages on walls, as well as posters produce a significant atmosphere that brings the mod to life. Transmissions: Element 120 was an enjoyable, but short mod I would suggest to anyone that enjoyed Half-life 2's singleplayer experience and is looking for more of the same thing in a short but highly enjoyable mod.

The voice actors sound all the same, and the voice actor's comedy make ackward uncles jokes seem hilarious. The combat is horribly nerfed, and teamwork is manitory at all times to the point if a single team member dies it may be next to impossible to survive the next wave of Z.E.D.S. Killing Floor 2 is more of an action horror game rather then a survival horror game as Killing Floor 1 was. You no longer have any choice in how the waves will go unless you have a good team with a solid plan from the start of waves. The community cannot organize a plan or team up randomly fast enough so pug games of KF2 usually end in you dying. The Z.E.D.S. have no appearance to zombies at all anymore, and look more like cheesy aliens from a sci-fi b movie. The cash shop is a cheap alternative to more frequent new gameplay content. Every single content update for KF2 is hyped and advertised near the bottom of their store page to create the notion that KF2 has had a lot of content updates when it has barely had any. The gameplay is so repedative and boring you don't even enjoy using the many weapons availible to you which have all had their johnson's lopped off. Fire an RPG into a group of Z.E.D.S and you will kill the same small group inside a circle everytime on Hell on Earth difficulty. The Z.E.D.S. make less sense then they did in the first KF due to KF1 Z.E.D.S moving far slower and were generally much more unexplainable zombie like creatures rather then KF2's non-sense half-alien Z.E.D.S. that have the ability to survive all the weapons of KF2 cartoonishly. After I understood how cartoony the Z.E.D.S. looked I understood why the more advanced physics features promied were tossed since there's not much realistic about KF 2 in any way, so why bother with advanced physics?

This is easily one of the best Half Life 2 mods. It offers a comfortably similar mission style to compliment Half Life 2. Minerva may be short in overall game hours, but if you enjoyed Half Life 2 you will definitely enjoy this reminiscent detour.

Minerva offers exactly what you would expect from what is a mod side story that is intent on delivering a unique and enjoyable experience with purposely simlar gameplay to Half Life 2.

I would highly reccomend Minerva to anyone that enjoyed the Half life 2 singleplayer experience, but is still craving more of what made Half Life 2 one of the most atmospheric as well as story driven FPS games ever made, you will not be dissapointed.
