I've been playing CS off and on since 1.3, and truly hated GO's mechanics. However, CS2's modifications from the GO platform are 100x better in my book.
CS2 graphics are a nice improvement, and a lot brighter than yesteryear versions.
I think the handling, predictions, and movement is smooth and aim feels far more truthful, feels like 1.4/source instead of GO.
The physics improvements, like smoke grenade's blooming effect, and response to bullets, HE nades and moltovs is really awesome. Their tactical use seems to be more even for both sides, and it amazes me that tossing a molly can diffuse the smoke. Brilliant.
I still am not a fan of the pay to unlock skins/customization of any game, so I can't bash one game without bashing all of them that utilize such devices. It amazes me how in this day and age where female player numbers have increased exponentially, how gendered fps games are still to this day. Why doesn't any developer, not just valve, allow for female or male options as a default???
Anywho. CS2 has been fun. There is still a ton of jerks who feel mic spamming slurs (race/gender) around, but so far, that's the only negative I've experienced. Ahole players. Outside of that, I am very happy with the improvements of CS2 from GO, and I am back to playing when I can.

So far, nearly every game i have played i have been outted early on. However, the game is interesting enough that I haven't stopped playing. It does feel that if you play solo missions with friends and team up it would be a better tactical advantage.

It is absolutely crazy how entertaining this game still is with the simplistic fps core.
