Early Access Review
I thought it was an ok game, then I added 420....it's.....absolute....garbage! In the state it's in, kinda levels out once you've upgraded everything. Became repetitive and boring in a hurry.

The only regret I have with this game is not knowing it existed until October 2024! I am well over 100 hours into this game and it is a masterpiece in it's own ways!

If you are a SNES/Genesis JRPG Elder-kin (lol) like me, you probably enjoyed KOEI games such as Uncharted Waters and Uncharted Waters: New Horizons! Well, I do pull UW:NH out every few years to scratch the itch, because, other than some untranslated UW games that came out on the Sega Saturn, etc. there was nothing that could scratch that itch and compare....until I found Sailing Era!!!

Sailing Era is a true spiritual successor to those earlier KOEI title's mentioned above! It adds to that specific game-style and I can say that I have finally found the game I have been wishing for since 1994!

The trade system, economic investing in ports around the world, a true geographic world design! Discoveries, sea combat (real-time vs UW: NH Turn-based), sailing, ship building, etc! Each port looks unique, which had to be alot of work. different regions of the world have different architecture, music, feel, goods, etc! Also different cultural buildings, discoveries, you name it!

The storyline is quite good, the learning curve of the game is fair, but you will have to do some digging online (there are quite a few resource sources out there to help guide you! At first it may seem simple, but you are in for a treat as it becomes more and more complex the further you dive into the game, having to invest in different ports and raise the economy in order to "unlock" unique and rare parts in order to build the best ships!

Romance the barmaids, research at specific libraries, and complete land expeditions in order to unlock epic discoveries and items/equipment!
Use fleet experience to level-up your crew members! Even Blackbeard!!!

By far, this game has not been given the attention and love it deserves from the general gaming community! It is highly under-rated and has become one of my favourite games of all time, right next to UW:NH on SNES/Genesis!!!

From my heart to the developers and everyone involved with the creation of this absolute GEM! Thank you all! This has truly brought me joy in a desperate time of need and distraction in my personal life!

Very repetitive and boring, no in-depth systems or research for anything. This game is mediocre and gets boring real fast.

After 250+ hours of gameplay, I have exhausted the game to it's full extend. It was a bit of a time sync, and lots of ups and downs, overall I'd recommend this to those of you who like crafting systems as it is quite immersive compared to "similar" type games. The community is not the most friendly of sorts, not negative or anything, just not as inviting as I've had in recent years with MMO's (fallout 76 for example).

If you like crafting, gathering resources etc, its fun, until you reach top tiers, where you will be met with a very expensive and inflated player based market of crafting materials and items.

The story is pretty good, it is defiantly unique in its own way and the graphics are quite nice as well.

Definately worth picking up if you like crafting MMO's.

Such an amazing free-to-play game. If you love complex a complex skill tree with so many different builds then you'll love PoE!

Forage the wild, fish the waters, farm the fields, tend the animals, romance the ladies...
11/10 would stalk HALEY again...A year later would still stalk HALEY to hell and back.

Tons of fun. I really enjoyed how indepth and customizable this game was. I have gone back and "finished" it twice. The end game content where you can create research labs and develop your own system is an amazing touch. I hope they make a sequal with even more depth!
