15 hours in and I'm enjoying this a lot. Less open world than Skyrim, but its an absolutely beautiful world with lots to do.
Slightly odd combat difficulty. Initially I was killed by everything even on the easiest difficulty level. But since reaching about level 6 I haven't lost a fight and have had to increase the difficulty to make it more exciting.

Gradually turn an idyllic alien planet into a giant industrial super factory with miles of tangled conveyer belts as far as the eye can see.
Very beautiful and enjoyable game.
It takes quite a lot of thought to get your industrial units building enough of the items you need and getting them where you need them. It starts off simple but progressively gets more and more complex.
Can get a little grindy towards the end and, as it’s a hand-built map, there may be issues with replay-ability.
I’m a big fan of survival crafting games like Emperion, Space engineers, Subnortica, 7 days to die etc and I think this is the best yet - certainly in terms of Building things. Great fun!

Early Access with clearly lots of work for the developers to do on the game.
I'm enjoying it:
I like the atmosphere of the game
You can repair cars and drive around.
Base building is nice but can be a bit of a grind.

Issues I have:
Smallish map and large areas with buildings that have no loot.
Strange lack of some important resources. e.g. Leaves and rocks are quite scarce (in a forest !?!?)
Not very intuitive as to which tools are suitable for each job. (use the axe to smash cars, the machete on trees to get bark)
Strangely limited recipes for items and food, that often require rather odd ingredients.
e.g. There is a surprisingly large number of different types of wood that each have very restricted uses (Logs, Planks, firewood, branch, stick, hard stick, wood scraps).

Tips:
Save often and "exit" and "continue" rather than re-spawn if killed (re-spawning loses too much hard won, and often irreplaceable, gear)
Tools on 0% vanish so you can't repair them :(

I really wanted to like this but its just too hard even on the easiest level. Just no fun

If you like the survival/crafting/building/exploring aspects of Minecraft and you like a good first-person Zombie apocalypse, you will absolutely love this game.

Pros:
· Great gameplay – And this is the most important thing!
· Great atmosphere
· Genuinely scary
· Zombies/Crafting/Survival/Base building
· Huge playing area to explore

Cons:
· Graphics differ wildly in quality – most are good to fair (the voxel terrain, some zombies), while others are so rough it’s like games from 20 years ago (corpse, car). As this is an early access game I hope these will be improved.
· Some of the female zombie models are gratuitously sexualised, this might appeal to teenage boys, but will put other people off.
· There are a few balance issues with perhaps too much loot.
· On some random maps you get too many identical buildings/ruins

If you liked the old xcom games you will love this!

Graphic style of the faces - it's shame you can't change the faces of your assault team - frankly none of them look like special forces - more like slightly depressed/fat 30 something's
a few balance issues : Psionic attacks - you don't appear to have any way of countering them and they seriously mess you up
The game forces you to rely on one team of veteran soldiers, as replacements are far too weak
