One of the greatest games of all time! Absolutely breathtaking visuals and an engaging story that lasts close to 200 hrs (My hour count is from one play through). Definitely a must buy especially if you're waiting for Cd Projekt Red to sort out all the issues with Cyberpunk 2077.

The Half-Life series are amongst some of my most favourite games on the PC so was delighted to see Black Mesa come to steam, I had heard about the original through word of mouth when it was first released in 2012 and had been playing it on-off since.

It's basically the same game as the original up until the Xen stage where the developers have completely redesigned the following levels which had always felt the weakest part of the original game. Although it had taken five years to fully complete this it was definitely worth the wait.

I wanted to write this review more as praise for the developers Crowbar Collective, they aren't a AAA developer but must have put their hearts and souls into making this game a reality. The remastered game has stayed true to the original but went beyond, improving areas of the previous game that was in need of updating (mentioned above with Xen). I'm glad to see a lot of praise for this game, I'm hoping that they'll remaster the expansions Opposing Force, Blue Shift and Decay in the future as well.

How to build an emotionally gripping story with great character development, from the makers of the studio that didn't bring you the Last of Us: Part 2...

The Spyro series were amongst my favourite games back on the PS1 I was delighted when they decided to re-imagine the series and bring it to PC.

The games have been faithfully restored without any major changes to the old games with the exception of course to the graphics which have been completely redone and are now visually stunning. I will say as well that there has been an improvement to the controls and camera compared to the previous versions.

It's definitely a trip down nostalgia lane so if you were a fan of the previous PS1 games I would recommend picking up the Reignited Trilogy, though I think it would be better value for you to wait for a sale as it is given a large discount.

A spin off from the main Metal Gear titles but still retains that classic Hideo Kojima feel to it. Gameplay is more an arcade based hack and slash, however it has been done very well. It definitely is more action based but there are stealth elements to it as well should you prefer that style of play.

Taking control of Raiden from previous installments of the series you tear through multitudes of different enemies to reach your objective including the stand-out boss fights that Metal Gear games have always been known for. Be warned there is a lot of button mashing, you will need quick reactions to attack, dodge, and parry so if this isn't your thing you might struggle to start with.

In terms of longevity I'd say the base story mode is relatively short coming in just under 10 hours....that's if you focus on getting all the collectables as well....There are additional 'DLC' & 'VR' missions that are available should you wish, whilst I feel the story is certainly replayable a few times if like me you fancy getting all the achievements on offer.

Overall I would recommend getting MGR:R it's been out a while coming up to a decade now but still holds up in terms of graphics, whilst it's definitely a shift in terms of gameplay I've found it to be an enjoyable experience playing.
