I really like the first Remnant and was pretty hyped for the second one.

TL;DR: 7.5-8.5 depending on your expectations and wants from a game. Good value on sales.

PROS:
Gorgeous scenes, very different stylish worlds, nice music, and a solid sequel overall. Core gameplay ideas remained same but some alterations were made and game is more action packed compared to the first one. Bosses are still challenging and fun.

CONS:
Core gameplay loop remains same for all worlds, not that many differences between enemies and it gets kinda tedious going from checkpoint to checkpoint (e.g. optional dungeons) and clearing regular mobs.

MEHS:
The delivery of worldbuilding does not meet the scenery of the worlds you visit: you just get to a world and go shooting-tooting. Nobody explains you what's happening until like 1/3 of clearing the world and the notes and diaries you find don't help much.

The idea of 1 world 2 plots seemed cool, but the end result is kinda strange: you can't dive much into the plot on the first try and the level becomes just a set of dungeons and corridors for you to clear and move the plot.

The dialogue sound disappears if you move camera from the speaker, that was pretty weird.

END COMPARISON:
Imagine getting a Rolls-Royce on a budget: stylish, luxury with a lot on technical feats here and there and a lot of effort being put into it. And then driving for groceries in traffic jams.

Same here: a lot of effort from designers, change of day/night and associated events, tons of secrets on levels. And it's all boils down to pretty repetitive gameplay for the most part, remember: boss battles are sparse.

Neat game, loved the minimalistic design, gameplay-wise it is a 2D-Remnant:FA: Guns + Melee with rolls to avoid magical and technological enemies in several bleak and grim locations. For a small indie dev it's quite an achievement!

Plays nicely on a gamepad (still, had some issues with the xbox elite). Overall recommended if you have a spare evening to beat a game.

Very nice late-cyberpunk game about little people. Not much action, but the game is more about the plot than gameplay itself. Great UI for an indie game.

Distilled fun of B-Rated movies, 80-ies aesthetics and sidescroller arcade for a proce of a beer (when at a discount) Highly recommend, 10/10
