A worthy successor to one of my favorite and most played games of all time (mostly on console). Yes there are bugs at launch, which is to be expected, but the devs rule and have already released several hotfixes so just be patient and know that this is an excellent game that will only get better with time.

I grew up playing the original Sid Meier's Pirates as a kid and still look back on it as my favorite game of all time. The open-world sense of adventure was truly ahead of its time, yet very few games since then have really taken the torch when it comes to the pirate theme and captaining your own ship, especially when it comes to the strategy side of it all. As the years have gone by, I've always looked for something in the same vein, yet more advanced, to scratch that itch in my gaming life, but couldn't quite find anything to fill the void...until now! To me, this game feels like Sid Meier's pirates on steroids, and that is truly awesome. It's also great to see the developers pushing out constant updates with loads of new stuff, so I'm excited to see what else they have in store for us, but it's already a game that I've dreamed about for years and have finally found it. A huge thank you to the developers for all their hard work and for making my dream come true!
