In this game's current state I absolutely cannot recommend it. Since January the game has been loaded to the brim with hackers and bots of every variety. In no particular order these bots have:

-stolen player names and icons to sew confusion.
-mic/text spam annoying and disgusting ♥♥♥♥. Including violent racism and links to child porn.
-wallhack and aimbot shamelessly.
-avoid votekicks and bans by leaving servers when votes are initiated.
-target players who initiate vote kicks by stealing their name and icon in other games/servers
-last month used an exploit to literally crash servers with excessive packet traffic.

In addition the game's source code was leaked, so that playing on community servers to escape the hackers is no longer a safe option. Valve has done absolutely nothing to fix any of this, yet released an immediate patch for CS:GO when it's source code was leaked alongside it. The situation is utterly out of control and the most Valve has done is tell people "Meh, play on official." I tried to weather it but I'm ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fed up. The straw that broke the camel's back was being vote kicked and cussed out by some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ due to bots ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ up under my name. Until Valve steps up and fixes the problem I'm done. ♥♥♥♥ Valve.
