Starfield: A Loading Screen Simulator

Starfield is a game whose promise of exploration is broken by the vast majority of exploration being replaced by loading screens and fast travel. The amount of time spent in loading screens is actually MORE than that of Skyrim in 2011. Unfortunately, this has the effect of taking away a feeling of agency. You are not responsible for landing your ship, and you do not decide how to enter a planet's atmosphere. The space between planets is reduced to a loading screen, and no choices can be made in that space. There are no asteroids, interstellar events, or even the option to stare out your window at the vast and intimidating emptiness that comprises most of our universe. It takes a scale so large as to be inconceivable and removes that majesty with loading and fast travel.

To top it off, those who have worked on the game have been persistent in telling players that how they feel about the game they've played is wrong, and that their experiences are, in fact, incorrect. As players, however, I urge you to listen to those who have bought and played the game, not those who made and are actively selling it.

The game is fun but Critically broken. I've enjoyed it greatly while it was working. Unfortunately, when you die in single player you are stuck "waiting to revive". The game will not respawn you in single player. You have to quit and and load to to continue playing.

So, after nearly 300 hours I call this game unplayable. RIP, it was good but its been over a month since this bug started and I haven't heard any plans to fix it. Don't buy this game.

This game is fun but it crashes often and after the latest one the story seems to have glitched and I cannot continue the story. The game is not in a playable state and considering how long its been out I don't see that changing. Save your money.

Not only can you be tentacled, you can become the tentacle. anime girls eat your heart out!

I recommend this only to people with many hours on their hands. Once covid is over this game might not be reasonable to play. This game is one that expects you to win tough battles but doesn't give you the tools to do so in a reasonable manner. I spent two hours getting 50 silver. The armor that's sold in the first area is upwards of 300 silver for just a chest piece. This game is an endless grind with few rewards for your effort and what you do win will quickly go to reviving your character from some ailment. I enjoy many of the mechanics, the music and the world but the balance feels off. its as if the devs are relying way to much on limiting currency as a means of increasing the difficulty and the experience suffers for it. I will keep playing for a time but it feels like I'm wasting hours of my life just trying to make some progress at all. I know I won't have time for this soon and my rating may change.

I went back to the game after a year in hopes they fixed it. they didn't. I started a new game to find constant audio crackling. It seems i need to reduce the sound quality of my entire system to play this forever broken game. NOT WORTH IT. DO NOT BUY

This game is pretty great, the problem is it had game breaking bugs. I just started this game and was really enjoying it when I and all my friends were locked out of my gallery. I no longer had access the space that you are meant to build in this game so most of the game was literally unplayable. I couldn't even teleport there from the main menu. UPDATE: The day after I posted this it was fixed. I really enjoy this game now and the devs seem on top of things

Cockheads jumping and jump boost system seems unreliable. I spent 12 minutes trying to beat the first obstacle of the tutorial. I never even felt like it was possible. I enjoyed Cuphead all the way through. this seems like a pale imitation that uses penises to get you to buy it without even a functioning jumping system even in the game.

This game worked a year ago when I last played it. it was chill and fun and just a comfy game. now a year has past and they broke the start of the game. you cant place a quarry which is the first and most important thing. the game stopped before it began. It was fun but stay away from this game it is broken and basically unplayable.
