First of all about the microtransactions, I think the negative criticism is justified, simply accepting everything silently would be a mistake. Big companies are risking more and more to find out how far they can push it until they get a strong reaction from the consumer. It just makes you feel really bad when you can buy travel stones (Ferrystones, you can buy them also ingame) and stones that have to be pre-placed to get there (Portcrystals, you can buy them also ingame) as a microtransaction. Especially when there are ONLY TWO Portcrystals pre-placed in the game itself... It would have made sense to place a Portcrystals in every larger city, which would not have had a negative impact on the gameplay of exploring.

About the game:
Positive
-The combat gameplay is awesome
-Switching classes is possible at any time
-Battles against the big monsters are a nice change from smaller enemies
-Very beautiful landscapes
-Exploring is fun
-did i mention already the great combat system?
-Every class plays different
-No crashes (RTX 4070 Ti Super, i7-14700K, 64GB Ram, Win 11 64bit)

Negative
-few different boss enemies.
-Lack of different enemies in general.
-The story actually sounds good at first, but after the first 1-2 hours you realise that there's not much to it and it's complete rubbish.
-I would have liked it better if the companions, like in Mass Effect or Dragons Age, were pre-made characters that you can take with you and also have their own stories.
-When I saw that there was a desert region I went there immediately, unfortunately there is no sahara or dune region, it is a stony sand region. (I like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere).
-ONLY TWO Portcrystals pre-placed in the game.
-As soon as you are in a city, the CPU is very heavily used. Outside the city the CPU was between 61-65 degrees, in the city it jumpt to 71-79 degrees).

After about 45H I was done with the main quest (+ true ending and a few side quests)

If you can live with an RPG where the fun comes clearly from fighting and exploring, you will have fun with it. Who wants a story and good side quests is wrong here.

I liked the game on the whole, even with its quirks.
That's why it's a strong 7 out of 10 for me.
