Giants caved in to the whiny ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ it looks like. Just noticed the gold version when looking at harvesters in game. I thought about buying it just to leave a good review and point out the stupidity of the people complaining about not getting a $0.99 skin with the Year 1 Pack. But I did not care about owning this pack because its is functionally just a gold paint job. While the gold version is actually different in that it is only a single wide front wheel set up where as the vanilla version has tracked and double wheel only. Vanilla version also gets a weird camo paint option. Which actually brings me to why wasn't the gold DLC literally just a paint option added into the vanilla versions paint options along with the single wide wheels. I guess thanks to the whiny ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ for getting me something free that I didn't care about owning because you felt so entitled.

This game is amazing. The base game is good by itself but there is plenty of mods to enhance or change the game play. The settings are pretty customizable for many aspects of the game like loot and zombie population, plus some mods add more options like line tuning the ratios of types of zombies within the population. A lot of people do play single player but I personally only play on servers with friends and single player is only used for testing mods and settings for a different set up. The Devs work slowly but they do give updates every month (used to be every week) and are slowly making progress on the next big update which will add a lot of new and cool features. I can't wait for it.

So a lot of people have been complaining about a grind. Most of them have way more hours than me on on the game. Several have mentioned being basically given stuff for free in ealrier versions of the game. So to me it looks like they had it stupid easy then when the dev realized it was too easy they changed it and now people are whining because they have to work for it. I have only 32 hours as of this posting and have made over 700,000 credits without paying for anything in game. I was going for one of the most expensive ships at 900,000+ credits but I bought a repair ship (the Superlifter) for 616,000 credits and I've been making an average of 12,000-15,000 credits every game. Plus you can get free credits from the pods that you get for free and also credit boosters that also come out of them that give a one time boost of about 40% to the credits earned and you choose to activate it after the game is over so if it was a bad game you don't waste it. There are several ships that only cost 100,000-300,000 credits. The match maker has been pretty consitant about getting me a game around 3 minutes. Reading the messages it sends while its serching for plays it does telling that its widining the range of player skill its looking at. But I have never had games were I felt I was so far out of my league (690-730) that it was BS. All of my losses were either because the enemy just got a good push/play or my team was derping about and the after battle report was fairly close in most games, even when we had "wtf" team comps. As far as the crew system goes I'm still using the starter crew except I have the Christmas Nav officer. While I haven't messed with it yet I think the getting better crews will be more of a grind than the ships but even then it doesn't seem like it will be that bad. And it is a F2P game so you are expected to buy something at some point, and for $40 you can own all or almost all of the current ships leaving all your credits for other stuff.
