Took me 3.4 hours to finish. I will say that it was an engrossing story and how it was portrayed was unique and certainly immersive. I would recommend it for those wanting a thriller story told through a series of puzzles that can be intense at times.

If you seen the first episode of Goblin Slayer, that is what the game is like when you first start playing. It is pretty unforgiving and part of that is due to the somewhat jankiness of combat. That being said, it feels like a first person DnD game. Many of the same classes with similar abilities and "play styles", as much as you can comparing a real time FPS game from a turn based TTRPG. It's an extraction game with a fantasy twist. Unique compared to many of the extraction shooters you see trying to ride on the coat tails of EFT.

I'd definitely recommend getting it as a free to play, then if you like where it's headed, support the devs and get the legendary version to expand on the playstyles.

This was always a game that would stick in the back of my mind every so often and never pulled the trigger on. With my Steam Deck coming, I was looking at games that would marry well with the idea of portable gaming that isn't time consuming.

Granted, I have only played for 3 hours writing this review, but the core concepts of the game seem to have been taught and I gotta say, I am really enjoying it. The combat isn't revolutionary, but it is fun. The Oregon Trail-esque style of narrative is also very engaging. The choices you make certainly matter, even this early. I already lost a warrior that I really liked because of my greed. Now I want to play more cautiously.

From my understanding, the trilogy essentially carries on the story with the characters, one after another. I want to see where this ordeal goes. I highly recommend picking it up if you're in the mood for a good story single player game.

It is a fairly intense game where each play through offers a different experience. Best played with friends. It can only go up from here. Don't sleep on it.

I said I recommend the game, but only after a price drop. I've read from various reviews as well as the devs, who say that the game is 5-6 hours. I honestly can't see how that is possible. I've read all the notes, I looked around a bit, and never felt like I was rushing through things and I beat the game in around 3 hours.

That being said, everything about the story, the characters, the scenery, the writing, is all fantastic. The only flaw that hit extremely hard for me was the ending. I won't spoil it but damn did it fall so flat. I read that it did in various reviews as well, but figured maybe people were just being too hard. Nope. Flat as hell. The mystery definitely creeped me out but uuugh, it could have been so much better.

Anyways, despite that, I still think the journey is awesome. $20 for a 3 hour game (some have beaten it in even less) with the ending falling flat? I'd wait for a sale but still recommend it.

Full disclosure, I "backed" this game on kickstarter for $70 so I am more monetarily invested than your new Steam user.

Squad is a tactical first person shooter that arrived as Early Access recently on Steam. It is a no holds bar arenaline fuel ride when the action gets going. While it isn't a milsim, don't let that fool you in thinking it isn't realistic. There are gameplay choices made to keep the flow going if you are a clever squad leader.

The sounds in this game are, in the opinion of this former grunt, second to none in terms of realism. Rounds flying by give you an audible snap, crack, and whiz. During fire fights you'll find yourself yelling on the mic. Not just because guns and explosions are louder than hell, but also because your adrenaline is pumping.

That's the joy of this game. Everything in this game so far offers easy access for players to work as a team. There are 3 separate team channels. Local for everyone on your team that is near you to speak with. Squad, which has no range limit, to speak with everyone on your team, and Squad Leader which is used for the Squad Leaders to speak amongst each other and plan their next move.

The strength of this game is also inherently its weakness. If you don't use a mic, you're drastically reducing your squad's effectiveness. While a well communicating squad can make for some of the most intense and exciting gameplay? A muted squad of lone wolves will absolutely make you want to quit the game.

So far there is only infantry combat, with the devs saying vehicles will comes soon (HMMWVs, Technicals, Dirt Bikes, MTLB's, etc) but for just the infantry portion the gameplay is solid. I can only see the game getting better and better when more assets are added.

And that's another thing: the developers. They play this game as much as the players do. Before this game went live on Steam, I found myself smoking and joking with the dev team members in game. They want this game to be just as awesome as we do. They are very active on the forums and sub-reddit, answering plenty of questions and giving us little sneak peeks on what they're working on. It's a breath of fresh air for sure.

I'll put it like this. Do you want a tactical shooter with open terrain, exciting combat, strategy and depth? This is the game. Not super realistic like ArmA but not arcadey like Call of Duty. It has great flow, great atmosphere, I can't recommend it enough.

More Witcher 3 what more could you ask for? The Heart of Stone has some of the most fun quests of the game and Blood and Wine is looking beautiful so far. You're missing out if you don't grab a slice of this action.

This was the only game I favorited on Green light. Not only because it really stood out but also because I don't really look at Green light XD

I recommend this game but with a caveat. Early Access is early access. Don't expect a ton of shine when you load this up. There are networking issues, the tutorial essentially needs a complete reworking (which sucks because there is a lot to this game), and the UI needs cleaning up.

That being said this is a game that shows what passion can be when put into a game. There is plenty of atmosphere when you do anything in this game. You don't just turn into a ship and fly off, instead you may get lowered into a launching bay and shown a little camera scene of you leaving. You get mission briefings on what you're doing before you ship off to fight. It's really neat! Also, the ship/vehicle design is really awesome. Love the look.

Things I would adjust outside of the glaring bugs/issues:

-Time to kill is longer than I think it should be. You have this visceral atmospheric warfare going on, it should be gritty and intense with infantry combat. Keeping cover and moving up when you suppress the enemy! Make weapons have a harder impact!

-The vehicles in the ground game need fixes in their controls. The Drakka (I think; the dual plasma hover tank) moves it's turret with the hull. I should be able to move independantly from the turret. W/A/S/D to strafe and move forward and back while using my mouse to move around the turret and shoot. Right now when you aim, your hull turns to face that way. Really unnatural feeling and janky. Might as well get rid of the turret. The gunships are the same way too. Really hard to control. End up flying all over trying to acquire the target. You end up fighting your own ship than the enemy.

- Animations for infantry weapons. Some of the models/animations don't look up to snuff to a lot of the other art in the game. Feels like you're not firing a weapon, really chinsy. I don't like some of the weapons.

-Better tutorial. Normally in an FPS you get beaten over the head with no brainer stuff. "Press the crouch key to crouch!" Yeah, no kidding. In this game it's different. The controls aren't the problem as that's easy to figure out. How do you board a ship with a drop ship? What are those support, command, and combat bars for? How do I get points for those (I didn't know that's why I couldn't equip stuff). What is the strengths of each fighter? What's their special ability listed in the options? etc etc. I would recommend a 20-30 min tutorial video where you break ♥♥♥♥ down Barney style and explain all of those nuances that are specific to the game.

*Wipes brow* For the price and what this game can certainly be, get this ♥♥♥♥.

A Beautiful Day sets itself on a path to make a unique game. It is an early access survival game, which are absolutely a dime a dozen, but ABD is trying a different route. It is an MMORTS in the same vain as Age of Empires. Definitely caught my attention when my friend mentioned it to me yesterday.

The devs are even kind enough to give you a free key if you are a current/former military vet. I was lucky enough to receive a key, not just because of the dev's generosity (for which I am thankful for) but also it saved me spending $17.99 on this "game."

Truly, early access can be a very useful tool for developers to polish their product and make necessary changes that the player base would like. However, while the tool is nice, there is a time and a place to utilize it.

Simply put, A Beautiful Day is anything but beautiful for the time being. It just isn't ready for even early access in my opinion.

You maybe thinking, "you've only played this game for less than an hour. How does your opinion matter?" True, very true. In the first 5 minutes the game has crashed a multiple of times. Not an issue, bugs pop up with different systems naturally. It isn't just that though. The text in the game is extremely low res and hard to read. The game skips past the starting menu screen and even bypasses your choice for race. It literally throws you in an empty forest with other players. All named "Jeff". I couldn't cut down trees because I didn't have an axe and I couldn't attack players because I didn't have a weapon. I couldn't interact with the interaction box nor read anything for the resource bar. I could just right click move around at other Jeffs and listen to the very loud music/footsteps (hit escape and the game closes and the menu button doesn't do anything.)

Normally, I would write this game off as a complete sham but the developers are nice and do seem to want to make a solid game. They had stated that they will be patching the game quite a lot so let's see if they can turn this around.

I will give the developers the benefit of the doubt and check on the game and progress if it is made I will reevaluate my review and recommend it if it is fun and playable. For now? Don't spend your money.

Edit: 8/17/15- A couple of patches have been put out. I can now choose what race I want to play as but unfortunately can't move. Still, the devs seem to be working on fixing the issues. Will keep this updated :)

Admittedly, I have not read any of The Witcher novels or even played any of the previous Witcher games. I watched a "movie" of The Witcher 2's cut scenes stitched together to get a general understanding of what makes the universe and what is going on before the third game.

As soon as I played it I was sucked in. There is quite a lot of controversy among certain groups about The Witcher 3's graphical down grade. While that it is true that the graphics aren't as beautiful as the footage shown in 2013/2014, The Witcher 3 is a very beautiful game. With the latest patches and ini tweaking you can make it look fantastic.

What is more beautiful than the graphics of the game, are the stories told. There is so much lore in this world and it isn't beaten over your head. You can learn a lot by reading notes, books, speaking with various NPCs. The choices you make in the game can matter. Not necessarily to you but to other NPCs. Most don't even take effect immediately. I made some decisions in my story that didn't take effect until 10-15 hours later!

I was completely sucked into this game. The music, graphics, stories, everything, is all so fantastic that I powered through all of the side quests and main story to see how it concludes. While I love it all I wish I didn't just so I could savor every last morsel.

While the game is amazing, it isn't quite perfect though. Inventory management can be a pain in the ass. You can't store any of your loot in a separate location (at least not at the time of this review). I had to reload save points from time to time because quests weren't triggering properly. CDPR is pretty on the ball with patches and a new one is coming out soon that'll fix some of these issues but not all of them. Quite a few glitches from time to time. Just Google The Witcher 3 glitches and see the list.

What's weird is all of those issues would normally hamper my final review of the game but I just can't fault it. With as large as this world is, you expect there to be some hiccups. CDPR is working actively to fix those problems and have sworn to back the game for the next 2 years.

Solid recommendation. My favorite single player game.
