A delight to play, really draws you in with the atmosphere and music. There is always just one more thing to do and suddenly you've spent a day of your life or more playing the game.

A solid addition to the Souls franchise, although for veteran players of Demon Souls and Dark Souls things might not seem to pick up until NG+ or a Covenant of Champions playthrough. The tutorial section of the game is certainly solid, which is a plus. Would generally recommend, especially when it's on sale.

Yes, although with the caveat that you should probably get it on sale, with whatever DLC is most relevant to whatever you intend to buy. If that's plain old Catholic stuff, that would be the Sons of Abraham DLC, given the large role of religion in life during this period, both socially and politically.
