As a super long Half-Life fan, I cannot recommend this game enough.

Let's start out with the original Black Mesa facility levels:

Everything here is fantastic. The marines on "hard" are a little too difficult for my liking, esp. compared to the original, but all the levels have been faithfully re-created in loving detail. These details add up to a more engaging plot, and more fleshed-out backstory, and lots of clues for things to come. I especially liked the recreation of Questionable Ethics.

Small complaints are the vortigaunt's AI isn't very good, they're just wonky, and the marines are too accurate.

Barring that, everything else is amazing.

Then we have Xen. ohhhhh boy we have Xen. Are you in for a treat with Xen. Especially the chapter itself "Xen". The first time you step into the portal and see the breath-taking detail and the amazing soundtrack sent shivers down my spine. Xen is a stunning accomplishment and it's no wonder it took them so long. There's just too much to get into here but its FANTASTIC.

The chapter interloper, in my opinion, went on for a liiiiiitle too long for my taste, but it wasn't low-quality by any means. And EndGame is fantastic. i LOVE what they did with endgame.

Get this game. This is a quality product of pure entertainment value. I cannot recommend it enough if you like FPSs.
